matt!
DON'T DO ITIt isnt worth it at all.very ture, weaking it even more is not a good idea, if it was design to be drilled iy would come drilled
Ali C
depends how harsh you are.mine was drilled with 13mm holes (or close to that) and it was fine.
Mat Smith!
very ture, weaking it even more is not a good idea, if it was design to be drilled iy would come drilled You can get them drilled and un-drilled.It's hardly gonna' crack through one of the holes , and that isn't going to affect the sidewalls .Just go for it, be 'reeeeeeeeeet! It's not going to take much weight off, but it'll look better.Mat
max-t
it wont really save much weight mate.theres no point in drilling it.keep the strength max...
Mika.M
I drilled mine (21mm) and it's holding well for two years natural riding now. Weight saving was around 100g with those 21mm holes... It's a lot of work but my opinion is that it's worth it.http://www.fintrial.com/images/parts/dx32drill.jpg Edited November 5, 2006 by Mika.M
matt rushton
Why are you going to drill it. Is it for looks or to save weight. If its for weight well its not going to save a very lot of weight not even enough so you can feel the difference so theres no point doing it for that reason.Matt Rushton

M2Trialz
it wont really save much weight mate.theres no point in drilling it.keep the strength max...Hey Mika, wats goin on? i have a question, I want to get a new hub, can u please tell me how's that Swiss hub of urs holdin up. And also hows ur Dx 32 rim is that combo and good for trials??? Thanks for all your time
Dan6061
y dont you just go for the simple option get a new rim ?? Haha. I'm sure it's easierto drill his DX32.Instead of de-lacing it, buying a new rim, then either lacing, and tensioning it himself, or send the hub to Tarty with £10, buy new spokes, and then wait for it to get Built... Mika.M
Hey Mika, wats goin on? i have a question, I want to get a new hub, can u please tell me how's that Swiss hub of urs holdin up. And also hows ur Dx 32 rim is that combo and good for trials??? Thanks for all your timeDT Hügi hub's are good for trials (only my opinion). I have rode with DT hub's about 10 years now so i have long experience from them. Freewheel spareparts are cheap (10€ pair) and easy to change without any tools...I change those few times a year just for safety's sake.I like DX32 because grind is lasting much longer (hard aluminium compound) than try-all and it's stroger too. bionicman
You dont have to get the wheel drilled because you can buy them already drilled with 13mm drilled holes i used to have one and they last forever, if your going to get it drilled out get it done proffesionally
_Owen.
i have drilled my front rim and it is fine . i was considering doing my rear aswell but i didnt want to loose strenght on the rear . Are those Dx32s double walled?? if they are you should get away with it, as long as you dont ride too hard
