Hi,

i have just bought a liteon super allwrite dvd writer and i need to install it, it only has one cable with it and it is a thin grey one with three wires cuming out of either end with a small black plug o each end. on the very brief installation instructions it show pictures of bigger cables, do i need to buy these? if so what do i need to buy?

IDE cable (long thin grey/black one, 16 pin I think) plugs into the write to the motherboard. Make sure you have the master plug (end one) into it if you're using only one writer/reader. The other end is into the motherboard, they're foolproof plugs so you can't go wrong.

Then you need the 4 pin power plug from the PSU (Power supply unit) into the back also, also fool proof :)

The one you recieved is a spare IDE cable, just use the same cable from the old previous reader and you should be ok :)

Cd Audio Cable (Not Needed At All With Windows XP ignore it)

IDE Cable (The cable which all the data goes down) most motherboard have 2 ide headers supporting 2 devices per cable.

4 Pin Molex Connector (This is power and you will probably have a spare one kicking around somewhere inside your case if not you need a splitter)
