Yea we all have an uvula (hopefully) + (dangly bit in throat - check google images) and poking around it can make you throw up, but you can never feel it (without fingers etc ie, with throat swallowing etc, i dunno).

However, every blue moon, i'll wake up with my uvula swollen as hell and like almosts rests on your tongue and its horrible and god damn annoying!! Everytime you swallow it feels like your actually swallow it (N)

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? cause i've asked people and 1 or 2 have said it happens to them where as most say no, and others wtf are you on about.....

so, have you had an enlarger swollen dangly bit? ;)

Swollen Uvula - Uvulitis

At times, the mucous membrane around the uvula may swell, causing the uvula to expand 3-5 times its normal size. When the uvula touches the throat or tongue, it can cause sensations like gagging or choking, even though there is no foreign matter present. This can cause problems breathing, talking, and eating.

There are many theories about what causes the uvula to swell, including: 1) dehydration (from arid weather and/or alcohol); 2) excessive smoking or other inhaled irritants; 3) snoring; 4) allergic reaction; or 5) a viral or bacterial infection.

If the swelling is caused by dehydration, drink plenty of fluids. If the cause is a bacterial infection, gargling salt water may help. A swollen uvula is normally not life-threatening and subsides in a short time, typically within a day. However, it can also be a sign of other problems. If the swelling has not subsided within 8-12 hours, or if it is accompanied by other symptoms (such as fever or pain), it is best to see your health care provider.

From Wikipedia, you can find ANYTHING on there.

you can indeed :)

but my history teacher sais that everything on wikipidea is fake so she wont let me use it from surveys and such (N)

anyway, i also heard from my biology teacher that something near the uvala in your throat swells up when your in stress, because a type of hormone producement is stimulated when your in stress, which causes something in your throat to swell up

can't exactly remember, but that could be it too i guess..
