N.Wood
Yo, I have a new laptop (Dell Inspiron 1300) and it doesn't have Windows Word or Excel. It has Works, but that seems largely useless.I'm on uni internet and therefore can't download anything from Limewire etc.I tried download.com, but they only seem to cater for patches and updates rather than the whole file. What can i do? Its pretty urgent, I need to get my test results that were sent to me in Excel format!Ta, Nick.

GlynnP
Hey NickI think your best bet is to download a free trial this i think can be found HEREThis way you will have it for 30 days, Meaning you can look at your test results now and gives you time to another way of getting it Hope this helpsIf all else fails use a mates computer or go into uni and use theirs. Siders77
No worries. It helped me out loads when I got a new PC, like you it had Works on. And you can open those files with normal Word and stuff too.
Has anyone seen my shoe?
Open Office ***, just make sure when you save, you pick the right option so that you can view it in word/excel/powerpoint etc later.

Danny
Open Office is getting better, version 2 was a big improvement on the first. And the good news is office 2007 supports opening OpenOffice file formats so they are truly cross compatible with each other.
