Thom
Holy crap wouldn't want to get chased by that. Over here in Aus we had a few wrx's for cop cars but they took them off because the cops couldn't handle them, wouldn't imagine it would be any easier with a lambo. They've just upped the stakes to a Murcielago for this years MPH show.
RicH_87
nice waste of taxyup.the police really do my head in nowadays, what good do they actually do other than act as a deterrent?my uncle was a policeman, and back then he helped a woman give birth and things like that. Nowadays i haven't heard one positive police related story for as long as i can remember.anyway lamborghinis are RANK, i hope some egotistical twat of a copper wraps it round a nursery and suvives. Simon
yeh we get it, but who paid for it?Er, probably no one.Its more then likely on loan, or from Lamborghini them selves. The transfers may have been payed for, but if they wouldn't of gone on that car, they would of gone on another car.Stop moaning that 100 quid of the tax money that would of gone else where has gone on an exhibition piece to try and deter people without the knowledge that its for show only to speed. RicH_87
ok i'll admit i'm just being a grumpy b*****d,but still, i knew pretty much straight of the bat that i wouldn't be seeing a police lamboghini in the flesh anywhere, any time soon, especially not on the roads, the fact they are displaying it at a show for people who have an interest in cars if anything is going to gloryfy police chases.ie, "if you're going to run at 200mph, we're going to chase you just as hard"i doubt anyone is going to see that and be like "oh now i'll never think of running away becasue they have a supercar", the majority of criminals only have shitty 1.4 astras and stuff and they still run from 2.5 volvos...so yeh, my point that it's a complete waste of time and money still stands.
future orange 660
the dont really need super cars like that. all they need is a basic car with a nice engine. plus with the training they can drive better than most people.for example, the police motorcycle riders use honda pan eurpean 1300's and on these they can ride faster than many many motorcyclists. yet are they riding race spec superbikes? no. a touring bike loaded with equipment.i expect most joy riders and the like would find it quite a thrill to be chased by a car like that anyway
Bionic Balls
seen it...was in the lambo garage in london during the gumball rally last summer...looks mint!
wally
That Lambo has been used many times before in the media (but standard looking), the number plate reg is the same as one featured on Top Gear and in a few magazines.
Hiltop
Yup your right that reg belongs to Lambo UK and is used on their press cars.lambo will more than likely have lent it to the MET for the show, free of cost.stop being so pathetic about this. it obviously is just a publicity stunt and by the fact that your all taking about it appears to have worked. mcajh
Wally is correct. The numberplate 'YEVIL' was on a orange Murcielago, now its on a newer Murcielago LP640. The older lambo had been on many shows, in magazines, it was at Autosport International in 2005 and I remember seeing it at a silverstone race meeting. Would be a bitch to try and out run it though if it was a genuine police car, nothing much faster than an LP640 on the roads!
Mooore!
haven't the italian traffic cops been using lambos for years? i definately remember seeing a photo af a countach all polizia'd up when i was younger. The ego boost from out running that would be good though. 011001000110010101110010
Even if it is owned my Lambo, somewhere along the lines the police will have driven it. TomR
just a PR gag, like the mercs and evo 7's. Chances are if you break the law youll get chased by a 1.7 diesel astra or an omega with 300k on the clock.

Shez.sheridan
They've had a couple or Lamborghinis here as police cars for a few years (Italy), looks miles better in the Brit police colours - here they're just white with light blue...They used to do Escort Cosworth poilce cars back in the day..Derv
