N.Wood
Depends on make of tyre. Some are fatter than others. Go for a Maxxis 2.35/Michelin 2.2 and you'll be sorted.

N.Wood
Yeh, so it says Try-All wheel. So we've determined that he's using a 47mm wide rim. Grand. Not all 2.5" tyres are the same. I've got 2.4" tyres that are thinner than 2.2" tyres. So I'm asking what tyre he intends on running.

La Bourde
Get the ERTRO's size (European Tyre and Rim Technical Organisation). It's a standard describing the width of a tire. It' a label wrote on the tyres like xx- 559, where xx is the width in millimeter.559 means 26".Then you measure tire clearance on your bike.
