Muc-off

I cleaned my rims with it, then went round with some solvent degreaser and that got alot of dirt off after i'd used muc off. Use proper degreaser IMO, muc offs great for dirt, but to get it properly clean use soapy water than degreaer on a rag.

Nah, its not good for discs at all. You can get proper disc cleaner for that, but really you cant beet a clean rag and some water if you're just getting the mud off your rotor/caliper.

At work I always found finish-line Citrus De-greaser to be much better for cleaning things like the drive-train and breaking surface than muc-off, and it cleans the rest plenty well enough even when diluted. Can get it in pretty much any size tub right up to over a couple of gallons too hahaha.

Right, the best way I've found of cleaning with muc off is: spray the muc off on fairly liberally, get some on the pads as well, then ride about with your brake on for a few minutes, then wipe off the crap with a clean rag and ride around with the brake locked until it starts working awesomely.

Yup thats the way to do it. It has worked every time for me.

If you don't have any muc-off then citrus washing up liquid seems to do the job, as well as smelling nice :P

Holy shit, never realised it was that much, I just used it as much as I wanted at work. Since then I've only really ridden with discs, as I only started trials back up recently.

I wouldn't even approach anything close to my rotors except water and rubbing alcohol (90% preferably). Everything else leaves a residue and make your brakes feel like shit, well for at least little while. So if you use rubbing alcohol, it gets the dirty stuff out, wipe it out with something like a coffee filter if you have some, or just a paper towel. The alcohol will evaporate quickly and your brakes should be awesome, right after cleaning, no need to set them in...
