N.Wood Posted October 30, 2006 Report Share Posted October 30, 2006 I agree with the thought that underage drinking allows you to experience/get used to it before you're 18, which means you can find your limit and not go 'holy shit, I'm 18 now I've been waiting for this for 5 years, lets get wrecked!'I have mainly older friends who've been 19 for a while when i was still 17, and I'm a young 'un for my age anyway (30th August birthday). I was going to pubs with them since i turned 17 and just had to sit away from the bar and accept that I could be kicked out. This is underage drinking, yes, but I was sensible enough to just have a few and keep it quiet. You see people who've just turned 18 smashing glasses everywhere as they're too pissed to realise.As for the money side, as has been mentioned paying an extra pound isn't gonna be enough for me/peopll to think 'ah shit i won't have as many', you'll just run out of money quicker. I'm used to paying London prices (nearly £3 at my local for a pint) but coming down here to uni where its half that doesn't mean I'm getting twice as pissed down here.
