M2Trialz
Hi my problem is i'm not sure which rim i should go for. Right now i have my eye on the Alex Supra-D, supra BH or Supra E-pro. I was also planing to lace that to a Shimano Hone hub. Does anybody have any idea of which rim is better for trials on a stock bike. And also if the Shimano hone hub is any good for trials. If not can u guys recommend a good trials hub i can buy that wont blow my bank. Right now i'm running a Sun Ringle Mammoth on a Deore hub, is the mammoth ok for trials?? Any input/ideas or recommendations is appreciated Thanks
Lawnmowerman
Hope pro 2 is the hub you want but the rim choice depends on what frame you have.

Lawnmowerman
For that i'd go for a mavic ex721. Theyre probably the strongest rim you can get and it wont be a b*****d setting up your brake as you don't have a trials specific frame designed for wide rims. Lawnmowerman
Avoid shitmano mate lol. I've been riding trials for a few years now and I've never seen anyone with a shitmano hub. How much money have you got to spend on a hub?
GTF
Get a Hope Pro 2 or Chris King hub if you got money. If you dont got as much money the Hope Mono and Hope XC are someone you can look after

ted
Has anybosy tryed the shimano hone hub, How is it? is it strong enough for trials??The hone will be strong enough but they are way heavier than a hope. As said before the hope pro 2 is an excellent choice.

Tommy d
If you can afford it then the best hub would be a Chris King but that's a bit unrealistic for most of us...Hope hubs are good, the XC is widely used, tried and tested etc and is disc compatible, and not as expensive as a King or a Pro 2.For rims, Mavic EX721 is excellent. La Bourde
Forget the shimano hub !You require a freewheel with a lot of engagment points. It depends of your willing too.If you want to ride a single speed bike (the best solution for trial according to me) or not !If you are single speed addicted you can ride an DMR revolver hub with a Try all 108.9, Tensile, Monty or Eno freewheel. Else a Chris King, DT Swiss or a Hope pro trial are good alternatives.Atomlab produces this kind of hubs too.Concerning the rims, a lot of trial rims are available:Echo, Try all, Viz!, Sunn/Un (only available in France), Onza. They are very wide (between 38 milimeters to 47) to be easy balance on your bike.
