Token
he's the only reason I come into NMC, for a little giggle. Let him stay just for the novelty of having someone to pity at 1:04AM

Krisboats
It was around 4ish years ago is what i said Tom! Anyway you avoiding the point here!I get paid not to overclock, thats a hobby of mine. Takes a lot of skill and understanding and time!Umm i know a lot, fact thousends that run there evryday system overclocked by least 40% and ones that have theres clocked by 60+% on phase! Only my Dell desktop i bought about 5 years ago was the only system i had thats was not overclocked. My laptop right is now is over clocked. Before you kick off, disaberling speedstep is an overclock! It's been done in the BIOS and cristal CPUID which is an overclock. So you think i am the only one in the wrold thats teste the lastes kit you can buy off OCUK, Ebyer, Scan etc..no. NDA is to test the stuff to make sure it works with everything eles there current. Intel, Nivida, ATI/AMD etc all do in house lab testing but there after it needs testing on a public domain kinda thing. Thast where NDA comes in and me as one of a few hundered NDA's to test it all out. Conroe wouldn't run a few things in windows to begin with, DVD burners, few GFX programs and much more. A new stepping came after this info was sent in and the problem was sorted. We each get 12 cpu's to test, so say 300 0f us with 12 cpus thats 3600 ES cpu's. The labs won't have that type of setup to find these problems! The labs are for promary testing off the line and ideas and new products!Overclocking is a test in it's self! It'll show how cool the cpu is. It's goes form the stepping, differnt stepping make good or bad chips, also batch/week date manafacture, silicon used, this is notied by volts needed to get the cpu stable on an OC'd system! Overclocking is fun, thats the idea. NDA is not overclocking. NDA is making sure a product works as it was amde for and non of these comapnise recomend overclocking but the parts they make are able too providing you have the cooling. Phase is nothing really. Warer cooling is now std on some system you can buy, air is going out and LN2 is now the uber hardest and costly thing to do but is fun. -200c and 8GHZ easy as! Still yet to be done on a Conroe system! All of this intelligence and yet you fail to call yourself a simple beta tester, bit weird that. I get what it is and everything, my old IT tutor used to do it before he went into teaching IT. For anyone that doesn't quite understand pete's ramblings it means he's one of several hundred people who test a specific component in his individually set up machine. The purpose of this is for the companies to check that their component works with many different hardware configurations with more ease than having several hundred differently configured machines in their labs, they can send a single component out to each beta tester and get feedback from them on how it performs. Effectively reducing testing time and company efficiency, well i say reducing time... there might not be much time saved after some poor sod has slowly to read through pete's jumbled chaotic grasp of the english language in his feedback. And whats with this graphics card having 768mb onboard RAM ? Since when has a computer related product been released to the public with an odd amount of RAM on it? GFX Cards run from 128mb doubling size each time to 1024mb of ram... meaning 128, 256, 512, 1024. Having a 768mb card would surely be impractical as it would mean the RAM chips wouldn't be paired for optimum efficiency, the data would lag slightly from the smaller capacity'd chip. The company just wouldn't do it. And more on topic, sounds like you've gotten caught being a tit... at least take responsibility for it, especially if you made a sensible post under the "cock" username, had it deleted, then reposted asking the same question using your normal username... can't really deny it was you

RobinJI
About a page of rambling no one cared about.... ...-200c and 8GHZ easy as! yep, easy as, well, if you happen to have the facility's to immerse it in liquid oxygen... but even then you could still be at only -183*CEdit: Can't spell.
