huge
You might be lucky enough to be able to adjust the two limit screws on the side of the mech until the jockey wheels line up with the rear cog you want to use. I found that the screws didn't quite push the mech over far enough so I -cut down a spoke (about 80mm) and placed a nipple on the end the wrong way around (you can use a short piece of gear cable instead)pushed my mech over by hand until the jockey wheels lined up with the rear cog (you may wish to add a mate at this point)placed the spoke (or short gear cable) through where a cable usually goes with the nipple resting on the plastic barrel adjustertigthened the spoke up using the cable clamp boltpedalled backwards to check that the chain ran in a striaght lineadjusted the allignment further by using the plastic barrel adjustmentIf you want to stop the mech moving up and down and hitting your chainstay-remove mech/chain from bikeremove the c shaped clip from the back of the mech-it may need turning a little before it will slide out (I placed a thin screwdriver in the gap between the bolt and clip to rotate it and remove it)remove the spring that will probably fly outreplace c clipyou may need to add a large washer over the bolt and c clip to allow the mech to be tightened properlyreplace mech and chainyou could just cable tie your mech to the frame but I found that removing the spring produced a much more stable tension and the cable tie may break off...please tell me if i am being unclear Edited October 21, 2006 by huge
bullitt
Here's the link for the chain tensioner out of a spoon thingy - Link. I did it, it didn't work especially well but it wasn't that bad.
Wright Pads
It's the angle of the pic, bike is also rest to the side and on the tyres sidewall/tread edge!G10 is good, really flexy in one direction only!!
