Concussion
Episode 1: BMX Dirt and Skate Vert: 21/10/2006 @ 6pmCorey Bohen, Ryan Nyquist and Anthony Napolitan go head to head for BMX Dirt supremecy as Bohen sets himself up for a third consecutive X Games Gold. With tricks including triple tailwhips and 720 barspins, you know that the whole event was pumped up like a tyre ready to explode, and it certainly did that. That's not the end of the action though as Episode 1 also features Skateboard vert action, which takes place on 128 foot of vert ramp, the biggest in X Games history. Sandro Diaz, Bob Burnquist and Olympic Gold medalist Shaun White all take centre stage for this balls to wall clash of vert masters.------------------------------------------------------------------------Episode 2: BMX Vert and Moto X: 22/10/2006 @6pmBelieve us, you’ll definitely not want to miss this one, there are more new tricks than magic circle convention. This episode has all the action from the BMX Vert and with Dave Mirra injured in the practise runs, the door is left open for Simon Tabron or Jamie Bestwick to take the crown. And then there was Moto X. If you haven't seen the grainy youtube clips of Travis Pastrana performing the most ridiculous DOUBLE backflip in the Moto X Best Trick comp, the you have to tune in and watch the whole thing. It'll make you feel warm all over.---------------------------------------------------------------------------Epsiode 3: BMX Park and Rally Car Racing: 23/10/2006The BMX riders enter the mass of obstacles that is the X Games street course, but with Dave Mirra out with a lacerated liver and Ryan Nyquist with a sprained ankle, the top spot is left wide open so it's time for Josh Harrington and Alistair Whitton to take charge.Up next is an event which made it’s debut at X Games 12, and the fast-paced, full-throttled action meant it was an instant hit.Colin McRae in the X Games? Surely not! But yep, there he was along with Ken Block, Lauchlin O'Sullivan and that insane X Games chameleon, Travis Pastrana vying for top spot.-------------------------------------------------------------------Episode 4: Moto X Freestyle: 24/10/2006 @ 6pmMassive air and ridiculous tricks are common place at the X GamesEpisode 4 is an all out assault of Moto X Freestyle madness where the excitement of the Best Trick comp is extended to a full 90 seconds of throttle busting action as riders like Travis Pastana, Mike Mason, Mat Rebeaud and Ronnie Faisst all thrash it out for the X Games title.Alongside the freestyle action is the high jump of Moto X, the step up comp. With Brian Deegan, Myles Richmond and Jeremy McGrath all testing to see who has the legs to clear heights of up to 33 foot and seal the deal as X Games champ.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Episode 5: Skateboard Big Air and Surfing: 25/10/2006 @ 6pmThe mega ramp fanatics were out in force for this one, as two time defending champ and general mega ramp loon Danny Way headed up the competition in this aerial display of skateboard finesse. With either a 50 foot or 62 foot roll in to launch the skaters over the mammoth gap, the speeds and distances would have caused many pros enough trouble, so imagine the disbelief as Bob Burnquist attempted a front flip. Awesome watching. To finish off, there is some surfing action as the rules and regulations to the best wave action get explained.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Episode 6: Supermoto and the Freestyle Final: 26/10/2006 @ 6pmCombining tarmac and dirt jumps, Supermoto is the b*****d hybrid of some sicko motorbike fan. With tyres not quite knobbly enough for dirt, but too knobbly for tarmac, these riders power slide around the mixed terrain course at breakneck speed, treating it wth as little regard as possible. This is followed up with the final of Freestyle Moto X, which sees Pastrana attempt to take his third gold of the games by pulling an array of tricks which make Sir Isaac Newton weep and rip up all his work about gravity, even though he's dead. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Episode 7: BMX Big Air and Moto Madness: 27/10/2006 @ 6pmIt's time to take those BMXs higher than a kite as it's Big Air time, and I mean big. Kevin Robinson (king of the double flair), Chad Kady, Alan Cooke and Morgan Wade all attempt to rise above one another, literally, and combine not only a trick over the huge gap, but also one out of the monsterous vert quarter pipe that they ride into. Like a free-for-all but involving motorbikes, Moto Madness is pretty much that, just all the top riders like Deegan, Pastrana, McGrath doing burnouts, tricks, wheelies and just about anything else they can think of. Silly, but very entertaining.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Episode 8: Skateboard Vert and Highlights: 28/10/2006 @ 6pmA favourite amongst many, the Skateboard vert event has produced some ridiculous achievements in the past - the 900 for example. This year was no different, as Bob Burnquist, Sandro Diaz, Rune Glifberg and Bucky Lasek to name a few took to the vert ramp to compete for X Games gold.Previous winner Burnquist, pinned as favourite, faced some stiff competition, especially from the likes Diaz who has been known to pull the 900.Highlights, what can I say. All the best bits from this array of ridiculous sports, where each year boundaries get broken and skills progress to new levels.
