nmt_oli Posted October 20, 2006 Report Share Posted October 20, 2006 If its not too expensive at your local bike shop, get your mounts faced. it makes them exactly parralel with each other and the drop out, meaning the caliper should sit dead straight over the disk, not slightly off, which can cause a noisy brake.I actually bought the hope facing tool, as i have 4 frames (and a fair few forks) with disk mounts, so was more cost effective to buy the tool (even at £70). ive found it to be very benificial. Bought a used Hope lever recently and it's creaking when I press it hard. I had the same problem with my old lever, it doesn't influence the performance, just drives me crazy Is there a way of getting rid of that noise?
