Lawnmowerman
Sram by far. They're already locked out so they don't bounce up and hit the chainstay. I'll never go near Shitmano again.

Nick Garland
You might as well just buy a £25 shimano 105 as most people do, can lock it out easy and then when you hit it on a sidehop you wont whine about it.
RobinJI
Sram by far, but as others have said, no point spending alot, you're just gunna trash it. what about one of these? one came on my freeride bike and it's a hell of alot better than you'd expect, shifts as nicely as my old XT and has taken a load of abuse. GTF
What about Dura Ace then?
Ali C
both are good, there are advantages to both. The sram is already locked outThe cable doesnt loop around the backbut they are heavierThe frame bolt is alloy and non replacablethe cable guide around the rear is plastic and gets damagedthey are uglyThe shimano xtr is lighterDoesnt have a cable adjuster on the rear to snap off.the frame bolt is easily replacableyou can get it in reverse pull (BIG plus in my books)better looking. But they dont come with really short arms, so you have to mod it.They hit the chainstays if not locked outand the might be a bit weaker than a sramcant go wrong with either really, but I use shimano as they come with reverse pull which I like.
