lawrence osborn
Hey guys,I fitted my mono trial today, the lever clicks just before the pads start gripping i'm wondering if the lever is supposed to that?
omgnoseat
not sure if this is the solution to your problem but oh well..the disc needs to bed in first, you can do this by riding with the brake on for a couple o minutes and then throw some water over the disc
Tony Harrison
How much space is there between the lever blade and handlebar when the brake is locked?
lawrence osborn
Around an inch why?
Tony Harrison
Because if the lever was touching the bar or anything, it might be moving too far. It's not bent or loose or anything is it? Have you checked the bolt is tight?

Willsey
you are in the same situation as me AGAIN... we both had trouble fitting it, and bedding it in, and now mine does that as well!
RobinJI
If its coming from the lever try wacking some WD40 or greese on the little brass barrel that the reach adjuster screws into, and on the pivot. If its coming from the caliper check that the pads are warn evenly, my LX did it because one of the pads was warn unevenly and the piston creaked as it twisted in the caliper when you pulled it hard. lawrence osborn
I've sorted it now ive put a quite thick washer on the other side of the mount so the actual bit were the pistons are moves over a bit and it's fine now, also the lever feels so much better
Shaun H
Sounds like you've solved it now, but everytime I've had that little "click" right before the pads bite, it's been because one of the pistons is sticking. To sort it I take out the wheel and pads and clean it up with WD40.
