Walleee
Right boy's, I need to shorten my axle so my new rear wheel will fit in my bike. Is it safe to take an angle grinder to it and just mke sure to deburr and such....The heat isn't going to f**k up my bearing's/oil or anything is it?Also, while im posting, how the f**k do I get at the bearings in Try-All Mod hubs? anzo
Dont see why not, the heat wont be that intense as it'll be in contact for only a few seconds.Too late for advice I guess but just make sure the cut is clean, not too short and then file it off for a smooth finish. Try and cover up the hole hub if you can, they're meant to run smoothly (obviously) so any tiny bits of metal will work as an abrasive!Good Luck/Unlucky P
Walleee
Tis sweet, just the rear rim is so fat now I can't use my coust sink's, might have to invest in a set of those Tensile offset mounts......
Johneh
if u can, put a nut on the axle then grind it, then take the nut off and where it gets stiffer to undo, do it up and undo it a few times until it becomes smooth, this will work abit like a thread die.EDIT = Reading through again, sounds like youve done it already, oh well Edited October 17, 2006 by Johneh
