dwarrick
Hey guys.im building up a new bike and im undecided on a front brake.ive been having bad experiances with hydro front brakes. Ive had a hope mono mini and a maggy louise. both i really didnt like too much. never had the hold i wanted and the lever blade had alot of movement.befor i was running a mech avid bb5. i loved how u could set up the pads nice and close to ahve almost zero lever movement and it locked super nice.my lbs can get me a really good deal on an avid juicy 5 and im undecided now, mu bad luck with hydro's is making me want to stick with the bb5 but they said the juicy was amazing.also on the point of brakes anyone use heatsink blues on a smooth rim? whats the outcome like
Tomm
Bike shops (on the whole) don't know about brakes for trials, and they don't understand how Avid cable discs are The Shit®. I went from a BB7 to a Juicy 7 and I wouldn't really recommend it. The juicy doesn't have quite as much bite as the BB7. It's close but it's just not there exactly, and it's not worth spending extra money on.If BB7s were more expensive, people wouldn't feel the need (like I did) to upgrade to something "better". Stick with what you've got and save the money for a rainy day
