How To Put A Magura Onto A Bmx- Will It Deff Work

I did this on my old BMX and yes it will work. The evo mounts will have to be upside down and you may have to file them down a little bit to allow enough adjustment. Tyre clearance around the little arm things as well may be an issue. To be perfectly honest it's hardly worth the bother. My current BMX has a chrome rim and well set up Fly U-brake and it's easily as good and less problematic than the maggy ever was.

I have Odyssey lever ---- Odyssey linear slic ----- Diatech AD990 with standard pads ------ Odyssey Hazard Lite chrome rim.

And its easily as powerful as my Magura with Koxx bloxx and XTR booster.

I have no idea why people go to all this effort with BMX brakes, learn to set them up and they will be powerful as hell. I used heatsink pads once and they were far too grabby and squealed like a bitch.

Magura and a dead rim won't be very nice. Dead rim as in one that won't go back into shape.

U brakes tend to work using the right setup. I just put one on recently.

It can be pretty hard to set a u brake up well to be fair. Cable line and stuff have a massive effect on how well the brake works and depending on the position of the mounts, position of the cable guides, whether you run a gyro or not you're either facked or you're not.

eg..

I found my current frame was a lot easier to set the brake up on because it was chainstay mounted and the guides were sensibly placed whereas the previous one was a complete slut because the seatstay mounts and the position of the cable guides weren't all that compatible.

however, this is all academic. the only brake you need on a bmx is your foot

Same here. My Macneil Ruben from 2000 ruled. My new S&M L.A.F wasn't very good atall. Although i had to add 2 links to my chain to move the wheel back and it feels alot better.
