If it happened when you put the photos on and off, could be the software. Perhaps you took the cable out too early, i don't know.

But your best bet is probably to take it into the shop you bought it from or send an email if you bought it online.

You haven't had it that long anyway have you, so it should be under warrenty

The majority of peoples cams are fine.

Like I said on msn i reckon it's the sensor gone. If its taking the photo but its all black then surely it's not recording the image? Which is what the sensor does.

and si, just take it to get it fixed, it aint gonna fix itself you bum :P

They said the other day though it's gonna be 6+ weeks though, wtf

Looks like it's a warrantee job really. But there are a few things you can try in the meantime:

Make sure the lens mount is clean, not dusty or anything

Remove the battery, put it back (or try another one if you have it)

Try a different memory card

There's a reset button on the bottom? Press that or something

Flash the firmware to the latest one
