I'm a circus-minded person myself: diabolo, poi, staff, unicycling etc
I missed the Cirque when they performed in Amsterdam 'cause I had an exchange student, blergh. I was ever so miffed about that. Being mainly a stick-twirler nowadays and kinda pushing toward contact spinning, the video (link below) of Antti from the amazing rubberheart duo at EJC gets me a little bit too excited.

That is awesome, although iv never been that fond of staffs, Iv never tryed it because im scared of poking my self in the eye or something haha
I love anything that spins and glows
Ive been rooting through my room trying to find my diabolos and i cant find them anywhere. iv only found one pair of sticks. .. i just hope i havent thrown them out thinking i need some new ones haha
I might have to treat my self to a glowing one seen as it is my birthday in 2 weeks
Saw cirque du soliel in san francisco when I was about 10, all I really remember is some guy ripping a yellow pages in half.
Got into fire poi to the point where I could do butterfly behind my back but never really carried on. Same with diaboli, was just getting onto doing 2 at the same time but pretty much stopped. Got a harries circus diabolo sitting next to me waiting to be made use of. Maybe i'll have a go now i've been reminded!
Theres also a unicycle in my garage, not doing much, one day though...
Kinda shifting away from the topic but is anyone else on here interested in fire arts? I've been spinning fire in various forms for a while now and I've done a little bit of fire-breathing; but I want to take it a little further with burning-man stuff. I've been working my way up to a hand transfer from one wick of my staff to the other (so one head lit and one unlit; drag finger across the underside of the lit of so you wipe enough fuel off for it to burn for a short while and use that flame to light the other head). I can already do a palm burn.
Just wondering if anyone else is a pyromaniac like me
Wtf is contact spinning? I've heard loads of people talking about it, but don't have a clue.
Edit: And I love to play with fire, try and spin a few times a week nowa days.
Contact, spinning is (warning: huge generalisation incoming) spinning without actually holding the staff, so all the moves in the video of Antti I posted up there where he's got the staff rolling over shoulders arms chest etc can be classified as contact moves.
Hmmm, difficult. Some moves that are arguably contact have been around for a long time before contact became an art in its own right. Such as neck rolls and palm spins. Technically, yeah they're contact, but they're more regarded as just parts of general twirling
EDIT: If you wanna have a look at the forefront of contact spinning join the forums at homeofpoi.com if you're not already a member and search for the l.a.b. report videos. It' not right...
check it out, this guy i know called langley... pretty good stuff.
mmmmm i cant sem to play it.... just music... and i have the right codec...... iv put it through vegas and its just a sound...... any one able to convert it to wmv???

I'm into yoyoing, and i've dabbled in a bit of diabolo trickery, really good fun, but you have to be outside to do it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-0g8j-2biQ < Little video of what I can do contact-wise, although I've learnt steves and continuous steves since then

P.S. After over a month of trying I've just cracked juggling (only a 3-ball cascade so far )

Download VLC player. It opens up media files like a fat man getting into a packet of crisps - without failure.
