I am wondering if any of you lot know whats wrong with my front brake. It used to work very good when it was on my old onza t-rex 2002.

When i got the onza t-rex 2005 version frame my front brake just went all slippy because when i pulled my lever my front brake just wouldn't do what i wanted it to do :(

do you know whats wrong with it?

please give me some advice so i can fix it

Cheers Luke

First of what brake do you have?

Disk, Mgura or a v.

If it's a disk or magura it could need a new bleed.

There could be lots of things wrong, to do with set up, worn pads, try some of the following

Twist your tpa, whack tar on there, grind it, new pads. etc...

Post up a picture. It might help.

i use tar but not on the front rim because my mate put's it on his front rim and guess what he went over his bars

well if you going to go over let go of the front brake????

or just learn to use the extra grip

and if you have enough tar on to lock the pistons shut.........

its your fault

I'd try degreasing the rim as said above & maybe give it a fresh grind if you run a ground front.

I'd also rough up the old pads with a file, make sure they're completely flat & meet the rim squarely.

Make sure the brake is set up correctly... Booster & securing legs in their correct positions.

If none of this works give it a fresh bleed & at that point you will have tried everything short of a full brake rebuild, seals hoses & all.
