rover220 Posted October 9, 2006 Report Share Posted October 9, 2006 hi.this may seem like a little rant but here we go.I've not been here long but I've already noticed that there's an immense amount of unesscessary topics posted daily such as:-"water or oil for hs33?""which helmet?""which frame?"it just seems to be the same topics over and over again. does no one know how to use the invaluable search feature??apart from it being a massive waste of bandwith having several threads with basically the same content, its also really annoying logging in to see 40-50 new posts some of which are the same and having to check them all just in case something good is missed by skim reading due to boredom.would it not be better to prune the unneeded threads and just have the best ones that have the best info so that us newbies can also see what its all about??it also seems to be the same names coming up with pointless posts.anyway, rant over.PS, search is our friend.mike Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
yoyoyo Posted October 9, 2006 Report Share Posted October 9, 2006 Hence the need for a sub-forum called NMC.Imagine it on the main forum, if everyone had been posting the same topic over and over again.At least i s'pose i can just not visit this forum, so it's worse for you. But you just have to live with it.You may get more recognition by posting a topic, but thats not always good. If you need something it can be useful to a search. But then things also become outdated for example the new 07 frames are starting to come out so the opinions change. But rememeber, the ones posting the unesscessary topics will be spending a longer time in NMC.It's the same with the spell checker. It's there, it's not hard to use, but why bother when you can just click on the 'Add new topic/post' button. Why search when you can just post. Sheer lazyness i guess. Fixed Pants™ Posted October 9, 2006 Report Share Posted October 9, 2006 (edited) Shut up new boy.Jokin, true, which frame doesn't seem to be so bad but yeah water in magura has popped up about 68 thousand times in the past 6.465 seconds.I guess people just want to know whats right for them, remember, not everyone has the same bike and setup, good point, maybe a stickie/ new non-members/ members thing (like 'new members chat, trials videos ect) maybe call it something like What Shall I Go For? Any questions on what you should go for, heres the place!Or something along the lines of that.OR just live with it as yoyoyo said. But then everyone ignored me when i said it but hey. Even if it was only in the Random Small questions thread.I even pm'ed either Tom or Danny, but i realise how busy they are so i never really followed it up.
