mod_rider
All the eastern countries have a different way of thinking to us. They're disciplined in every way, some of which I think we should bring into our society. I went to china last easter for 2 weeks, and I couldn't believe there discipline. You get fined by police if you're caught dropping litter, and put in jail for minor things. I'm not saying I'd want people to be put in jail left right and centre, as according to another current issue, we're mighty good at that. Just when I was there I kept thinking, a chav in England would do that in there sleep, and even though the eastern countries seem hostile, there is a certain level of discipline which makes them so organised and powerful. If anyone ever gets the chance, I would say go to china without a second thought, it's a whole different world, and makes you look at the world in a different way. Tiananmen Square is a marvel, it's actually mind boggling. With North Korea, I really don't think there is any threat to us whatsoever, however I think there is going to be large amounts of trouble in the future in the eastern countries. As their economies are growing, they're wanting to become more powerful. We had dinner in china with a chinese family, and the guy knows lots of people in the government, although he isn't involved, he knows a lot. He said China we're planning on taking back Taiwan after the Beijing Olympics, as they think it will be such an event, the world will be on their side, and they will get away with it. With North Korea likely to do the same to South Korea soon, I think it could end up in a real mess. As all the economies are growing, they're feeling more powerful, and I think there could be another war soon, which could develop into a world war if George Bush steps in, which is likely. It would be nice to say our world is mature enough to solve the problems at the UN meetings, but the fact that North Korea has let off this nuke without warning, proves it clearly isn't in some cases. As has been said, those countries are completely different to our world, but I think we have a lot to learn from them, even though they have even more to learn from us. They don't have the need for speed cameras, security cameras everywhere, because the country is so scared of the sanctions, they don't do any of the crimes our country does. Similarly, there is borderline, and china may have gone over it. 98% of all the world's death sentences happen in China, and a lot of them are corrupt Politicians who have been "eliminated".It's a fascinating country, and has a lot to offer the world, but similarly, the future of those countries is scary, and this bomb has made lots of people aware of it.
