RicH_87
any size you want really,i would say most people nowadays go for about 203mm.basically the bigger the rotar the bigger the power.
Fixed Pants™
Simple i guess, bigger the better, but i wouldn't advise a disk for the rear, go for a hs33?

Greetings
Hope Trials 180mm front and rear should be perfect.
Ben_OCP
Im using a 180mm martas font and rear. Works fine i would say. I guess the ideal size for the rear would be a 180mm. As for the front its really up to you.
matt!
i should imagine any sze, but realy its the type of disk you run, and also the cirrect size rotor that will fit it.

Fixed Pants™
why notWell i guess its because disks might not have that locking force you need to be on the backwheel and most trials bikes are non rear disked, and people have told me. Danny Kearns
Well i guess its because disks might not have that locking force you need to be on the backwheel and most trials bikes are non rear disked, and people have told me.That is going to be debatable, people are going to argue agaist disc's having the stopping power when you are on backwheel, alot of people prefer a disc brake on the rear over a magura hs33, me personally i hate a disc brake on the rear, reason being i sidehop to my lefthand side and would be buying a new rotor every three days due to the fact of landing on them.Other people vote against, some people think that magura hs33's don't have toe stopping power, and in a way they are correct, seeing a magura hs33's are not trials specific break's to be fair they are cross country brakes.I have noticed quite alot of people goign to double disc just lately, i personally vote against all together, i don't agree with a disc brake on the front either, reason being again i sidehop to my left hand side, a set of zoo! pads or a set of echo pinks on a front magura does the job and has plenty of stopping power for my use, but if you were to select a disc break for upfront, i highly recommend the avid bb7 with a xtr lever, tremendous braking power of everybodys bb7 who have seen running one, they just seem to stop you dead.Well thats just my views, people may disagree but hey its a discussion forum. All the best.Dan. Fixed Pants™
Yeah... If you look at it logically, disks aren't even half the size of the rim so its a bit of a leverage boost. Thats how i see it. and also there isn't really anything you can do with disks - i don't think you can tar disks and you certainly can't grind em.
