manuel
right - my bad week on the bike continues.... Pro II came undone without me noticing - upshot = cracked seatstays ... and taking off the mech hanger shows the crack goes basically all the way to the hanger bolt hole and it flexes quite alot when you wobble it by hand .....so there is not much material left on the drive side stay to keep me safe ... what do i do ?1. ride it in fear 2. try to get another (I love it) - if anyone knows where to get hold of one that would be grand ....or 3. get a new frame ? If so which one ? I mean the pures geo is not that modern probably zero or drop bb and mine probably measures around 1070 ish - Id love a seat or the ability to bodge one on .... (oh and i dont want an ashton) so stay the same or go modern ? thats the question really ...
Prawny Baby
fookin ell matey! that frames been going FOREVER.how about the new pure frame as an alternative?measures up at 1080, 385 stays, +20 BB, feels very like the old ones to me, and not to long AT ALL.or.....the closest riding thing to that is going to be a short control.1065 WB, +10bb, 375mm stays.... gorgeous frames!good luck id recomment the Zona Zenith if your on a budget, although it might be too modern for you, with 375 stays, +30 BB, and 1075 wheelbase.... I loved the look of it It would probably have to be by a brand that Tarty Bikes stock, for him to be able to ride it. I know someone who has one of the old Pure frames. He stopped riding ages ago, so i can't remember what state it was in. But it had a pretty decent spec. I know he's definately still got the bike.Give me a shout and i can get you in touch with him, if you want?Cheers,Joe.
yoyoyo
Aw, that frame was a classic.Your next one needs to get sprayed the same colour. Looks awesome, and makes it easier to recognise you.Just out of curiosity, are you still wearing those green shoes that stand out loads when riding that bike. (just looking at the options)I seem to remember, when building a pro2 up for a mate, that although the bolts are massive the threads are course as fook! The bolts wiggle around a lot even when screwed right in.I think it means that the bolt and axle are not mated together correctly.Im not an engineer but i think this may have something to do with it. ??Just remember thinking it was so gash!just a thoughtAnyone else catch my drift?Dave
