TomR
Just wear Jeans, T-shirt and a decent jacket. I used to go out in a couple of t-shirts, a polo shirt and a jumper and always ended up in just a t-shirt.Hands are the biggest problem IMO, just try some decent winter XC gloves, and a fairly thick pair of socks, none of them crap nylon things. TomR
I emailed the rubber gloves idea to MBUK a few years ago! Never actually tried it though!
RobinJI
Howies minro wool base layers are amazing, although pretty crazy money . You'll probably be fine in jeans and a T though, once you start riding you warm up quickly. A thin breathable waterproof can be nice if its pissing it down. King C
Yeah I usually ride in a hoodie and a tee shirt in the winter. Anyone got any other tips for keeping hands warm in winter.
Danny Kearns
I am rather strange, I never ride in gloves, (spring, summer, autum, winter), I just grin and bare the cold for the first 10 minutes and then my hands are hot and so is the rest of my body.Dan. bikerdude2006fr
I just wear my shorts and teeshirt with my gloves and helmet It gets to like -10 here in france and you only get cold when you stop riding......... only problem is snow and ice
ramps
Gloves wise, get some downhill type gloves, they are thicker than hebos and the like and so keep your hands warmer. Its always worked we me anyway. Long sleeve t's are quite a good idea aswell throughout winter time. Onfire t's are usually thick so they are one of my winter favourites. Joe Aston
I play at lot of sports in winter mainly hackey but also golf so keeping warm is a big must especially in golf when your not moving a lot. i just brought a nike base layer 17 quid but load of my mates in the county squad use cc cantubery ones check out barrington sports base layer section got loads in. There about double the money of the nick ones but i'm finding my nike one prity dam good at the moment. Hope this helps Joe
Zoo_Monkey
i ride with my hebo's in winter - no problem in fact i just dug them out. start using them now so im used to it when i have toi use my snowboarding bas layers in the winter if its way nippy, keep you warm and no sweaty-ness as they breath, a tshirt over the top or a hoodie if its sub zero! buff for your face and a wind proof jacket like the raceface ones, or my animal camo one also you can get glove base layers if you need them all you need worry about then is ice
Ash-Kennard
don't wear gloves in the winter, just too hot. on rides, just dont stop at all, just keep going all day. but make sure you eat plenty
Greetings
This end it's very rarely above 0 in the winter, and yet we cope Dress in black, if there's any sun it will stop you from loosing heat. Dress in many layers, not thick layers - ie. 3 shirts and a jumper, or 2 shirts 2 jumpers. Scalfs are also very good as they will keep the heat under your clothes when you're moving. Wear some drawers or two pairs of trousers, and two pairs of socks. Gloves are the most important though, I use black leather gloves which after having a few years of use have already adapted to the movement of your fingers when riding trials. They're really warm but not thick. Eat a lot because it's energy which will be converted into heat once you start moving. Carry around some hot tea with you, it can do wonders when you're about to freeze so can having a leak. I guess you'd boil to death if you dressed this way with your mild winters
Ash-Kennard
yeah as said, dress in maybe 3 t-shirts, rather than a t-shirt and a big fat fleece, as the gap inbetween the layres, will end up heated and would work as an insulator.
