Hey guys,

I have a front mono trial in my house waiting to be mounted on to my bike. But heres the problem i was looking at it the other and could slide the disk in between the pads easily, then i looked at it a few day later and no matter how hard i push the disk will not go between the pads :( so can anyone help me please?

Cheers Lawrence (Y)

You need a flat head screw driver in between the pads to push them apart it needs a bit of power to push them open. When your front wheel hasnt been in, you or someone else have pulled the lever in causing the pads to move together. Since theres no disk in there the pads have moved so close together you cant put it back in.

just prise the pads apart with a flatblade screwdriver, saves you taking the pads off. then until you put the brake on the bike put some cardboard between the pads to save it happening again.

but. . . . to take the pads out, remove the circlip from the retaining pin, push the pin out, pull the pads out. refitting is obviously the reverse of that (Y)

Ahh, someones used a split pin instead of the new style screw in, maybe they lost it.

straighten the pointy end with pliers, then use pliers on the round end and just pull it out. pads should then easily come out of the caliper.

What so flaten the split end then pull the pin out cheers for that (Y) and the new pads come with a new pin right :)
