Duck
HiIm trying to upload a photo for my railcard. here is what its telling me to doPhotographs uploaded onto the website must: * Have an aspect ratio of 1.29 (with a tolerance of +/ - 0.15) - this means that their height divided by their width must result in a value of between 1.14 to 1.44; * Be a file type of either: .jpg, .bmp or .gif; * Have a file size not exceeding 1 mb; and have a resolution of at least 300dpi.im using paintshop pro to resize it and everytime its telling me the photo wont fit on the card, its starting to do my nut in now, could somebody help me pleaseCheersPhil
tomturd
Have you resized it so that if you devide its height be its width, the result is between 1.14 to 1.44?
Duck
I think thats my problem,i dont actually have a clue how to do it :$
tomturd
Erm.... Id start by cropping it into what you think is a passport photo shape, then checking to see if its right or not. If not, undo and try again.... trial and error, shouldnt take too long.

poopipe
jesus. .why the hell don't they just tell you what size to make itthe image needs to be a multiple of either 100x129 pixels (i'm guessing this one even though the aspect ratio doesn't work out that way round) or 129x100 pixels - that'll give you the correct image shape/proportions. not sure about PSP cos I only use photoshop but...your best bet is ...make a blank image that matches those dimensions, is roughly the right size in centimetres and is at 300dpi. get your scanned photo (or whatever) and paste it into that image, scale it around so it fits and hope to god that it comes out at less than 1MB (if you save as jpg you'll probably manage that). JT!
On photoshop, you can actually set the select box to any aspect ratio.Sounds like you've done it, but if not i can sort it out for you if you like.
