Do it you self

I bleed form the base up with it off the bike

Take it off the bike

Remove the pads

Fit the leaver clamp in vics as if it was on your bike

Remove top cap

Push pistions all the way back in with a screwdrive and a cloth, carefull of the DOT fuild shooiting out

Now fit soemthing in the pistions to keep them apart, my sons Lego does the job.

I use a syringe with DOT 5.1 and bit of hose on the end that fit over the bleed nipple

Undo the bleed nipple 1/4 of a turn with syringe fitted over

Slowly push down on the syringe to bleed the fulid throuhg

As you do this PUMP on the leaver slolwy

Once bled seal the bleed nipple off

Remove the syringe

Fit top cap

Wipe the brake off

Take it and give it a wash in hot soapy water and give it a good scrubbing

Now fit the pads again

Fit to the bike

It should work spot on and be a better bleed than hope

You can thank me latter

Yeah you can use you Magura bleed kit if the hose will fit!

Make sure you syringe full of DOT 5.1 1st and fitted on before you undo the nipple.

You have trapped air in the hose, behind the pistions, in the claiper join, a fubabred seal at claiper or leaver

Bleed it so it over flow the resiovr in the laeaver, so you'll need to put a paper towle there lots of them or a bowle or bucket to ctach it all

Can you not read!!! Top cap says dot 4 or 5.1 only!!! The manual i posted a link with says it too...

You used a f**ked allen key and over tigthen it!!! They do new top caps with bigger bolts which are tons better, they are on tartybikes

To get that bolt out, hack saw a gove in there and use a thing flat scredriver pushing uber hard dopwn on it and undo it

Do what i said about removing the bolt! Cutting the slot!

Get the new top cap as you wont have this problem again. In fact i might have two leavrs going spear!

I'll do it for you no problems, same day as i get it it'll be done and dispatched back.

Yeah i advise to bleed it again or drain it dry!

Dot 3 is not what hope says to use

Odd i've had water in my Magura for 4+ years still not a problem!!!

Dot 3 is not what hope says to use

Erm, so where do you draw the line?

At least DOT 3 is remotely close to DOT 4 or so, and so is close enough to what Hope use.

Water in a Magura isn't what they say to use...

A little hypocritical there Pete don't you think?

Out of interest Pete, do you really find bleeding a hope from the bottom up to make much of a difference than the other, more conventional and hope recommended, top down way? Its just i find the conventional way much easier as you do not have to remove the brake, there is much less mess (no fluid coming out the resevoir, just the tube on the nipple) and therefore quicker. i have also never had a problem with it.

Why do you believe it produces a better bleed?

I find form the bottom up, the caliper traps a lot of air so the presure form the bottom get's it out, but i do it both ways. Just find the way i said means less messing about with the niipple going on and off every pump and then tipping in of fuild...all in one, 5 mins and it's done!

True, the one thing that i have noticed is that hope calipers trap a lot of air. Will have to try that sometime.

I am tempted to get the hope bleed kit after using an easy bleed on my car, It pressurises the brake system so you just open the nipple and let it flow till your done, so quick and so easy, plus the extra pressure will help get out stubborn trapped air.

I got one but i didn;t like it, i modified it to be used on my Maguras, boiling hot water really does clean them out nicely!

Just changed the hose on there to one smaller to fit a barb, and a control valve on the air so i can control the flow! Just have to pump up the tyre before i use it.
