poopipe
it appears my advancing years are catching up with me. ...I recently (a month or so ago now) got myself a mild tear in a tendon in my knee, pulled some hamstring and generally twisted the buggery out of everything squashy you find around the middle bit of a leg.I'm pretty much sorted in terms of walking around and gentle bmxing but i'm still lacking the flexibility i'd need to ride trials due to some residual swellings.I've had to stop eating feminax cos it makes me bump into things and means I cant go to the pub as often as i like to so I reckon my best bet would be rubbing some sort of anti inflammatory stuff on it but there's so many advertised on the telly that i've gotten all confused. Has anybody tried any of the off the shelf muscle helpy creams ( the ones called things like ibuprofalaxaleve ) with any success?
Tomm
All the creams will be much the same, but with wildly different prices. The ones advertised on TV will be the expensive ones, obviously. If I were you, I'd go to a Pharmacy and see what they suggest The swelling is there for a reason though - And it should go down with time. Maybe just ease off on the riding for a bit and see if it sorts itself out?

Tomm
dont be silly but seriously, ta - is it the ibuprofen ones that work, i seem to remember that having anti inflamatory propertiesThey will all contain either ibuprofen, aspirin, paracetamol, diclofenac which are essentially the same (all anti-inflammatories). I don't really know any more than that - I think I've used Ibuleve once and it worked, but it's probably quite expensive... You could just buy oral ibuprofen for about 40p, it'll be much cheaper than all these creams/gels/sprays.
