Tomm
Cheers Tic. I have had a look and I've seen some nice Marins actually. I wasn't expecting to like them Does anyone know how big a "medium" Marin hardtail is in inches? Because I've found an awesome deal on a medium marin but I don't know if a medium would be too small for me (I'm 6 foot, but I would prefer to be able to put the seat down).Any ideas? haydon_peter
Most of the measurements and angles appear to be on the Marin website in both inches and millimeters, but cos I am feeling nice I just went and measured my SMALL frame up for you just incase it helps:Seat tube 15"Top Tube 22"BB to Headtube 27"Chainstays 17"*All above are approxomations, if you want more measurements give me a shoutI think a Medium would be fine seeing as you are wanting to be able to jump and mess around on it aswell, you can always whack the seat up high for when you want to cover some distance
Tomm
Thanks Tic I think I found somewhere that said the Medium was about 17" which sounds about right if yours is 15. I'm very tempted. Jut need to see if there's anything better on eBay or elsewhere.
RicH_87
my hardrock is 17" and it has a big M sticker on it which i guess means medium.so what you heard is probably right.
Tomm
I think I'm gonna buy this tomorrow. Anyone got anything to say on the matter?Marin Wildcat Trail - I've found it for £495 inc postage, which seems like a decent deal. It's the 2004 model but the retail was £755, so it's quite a saving

PaRtZ
I picked up a marin ridgeback (full sus) from someone on here (after a mate swapped his bmx i bought it for £200) It needs work doing to both swingarm pivot points (on the frame + shock) but otherwise its fineIts really fun, I even take it of little drops and do some small doubles on it but in general its a really good bike to play on
Tomm
Looks good to me. Just don't expect the 'U-Turn Preload Adjuster' on the forks to make a difference.I saw some Judys with U-Turn in a bike shop the other day and it seemed to work impressively well. Just wind it in and you can go from 130mm to 80mm. Although I don't really know if I'd use 80mm ever... But it seemed to work well.

JT!
Humm that would explain why it isn't making the forks any harder/easier to press down.

Si-man
the u turn locks the forks out...Does on mine anyway lol
RobinJI
What the........The U-turn on rock shox forks always has and probably always will be a travel adjuster that changes the travel of the fork, without altering the preload. If it does anything else on you're bike then its either a different adjustment thats not called U-turn, but might be in the same place, or its just plain broken. The latest rock shox use a lock out thats call 'POPLOC' not u-turn, could you be mistaken between the two?I'n my experience/opinion, the U-turn is a great adjustment thats alot tougher than other makes travel adjusters, blew the damping in my old psylos long before the U-turn ever even showed any wear.
