granty
hi all im finally back in my pc chair. ages ago i posted in a picture of my back becasue i had a twisted spine but i got told i could stll carry on with my life as normal unless it got worse but before it had the chance to get worse i broke my spine whilst ridin 5 weeks ago. i fell off and landed on my right hand side on a picnic bench and broke 3 ribs and my spine and i was in so much pain i didnt know what to do so i just tried standing up which when i tried i just fell to the floor. i was ridin with tom (jaffacakes) and charlie (sir-gu-murphy) but they were at the shop and i couldnt move so i jus lay there in agony till they arrived and i had to get airlifted to the royal devon and exeter hospital from st.ives in cornwall and my parents didnt even know and it was the worst journey i have ever had it was so painfull but know im all home and safe and heres my scar from the operation because normally they put you in a brace with a broken back but becasue my spine was twisted and now broken they had to put two metal rods in my spine i will put the pictures of the x-ray up in bout 5 days when i go up for my check up and you can all see the rods. granty
when i fully heal apparently i will only of lost 5 percent of my bending and when they straightened me i felt bent and when i started walkin i was drifting to the left because of it but now it feels normal. and before it all happened when i was just bent i had absolutly no pain and then i hurt when i broke it but then after the operation it didnt hurt it was just uncomfy until i had to get out off bed for the first time and start movin that hurt a bit but was on lots of morphine (my new favorite drug) hahhahaha but now i feel normal but that is quite bad because i will totally foret and i will jump or somethin small and then it hurts but i can rde my dmr normally now but im not allowed accordin to the docter so i dont really ride it but hopefully on wednesday he wil say i can start ridin it but no jumpin for up to 6 months
Tomm
Nice scar Looks better now than it did before - what caused the bending in the first place? And I wouldn't worry too much about not being able to ride for a few months - most people who break their back come off a bit worse than that!
