JT!
Basically my bros computer stopped working. We use to have a network like this...Modem > Bros Comp > Wireless Router / Switch (His network cable went into the 'internet port') > Networked to 2 my dads comp and my laptop.Stupid setup, yeah. But it worked. So now by bros comp has packed in, it's like this...modem > my laptop > Wireless router / switch > Then wireless to my dads comp.Exactly the same setup as before, just my laptop instead of my bros comp. The wireless devices are connected, but my dads comp can't get the internet.Looking around though all the settings, i either have the choice to share the internet though the modem, or the wireless router. I can't have both on, because it takes the other one off.Disabled firewalls and such so I'm stumped. Any ideas? Edited September 27, 2006 by JT! Tomm
On your laptop, "bridge" the connection between the modem and the ethernet (which is connected to the router). That *should* do it, but we all know what networking is like P.S. I'm guessing it's a shitty USB modem?

Tomm
Shitty usb modem yeah, how do u bridge conections?Well, supposedly you select 2 network connections in control panel (hold down ctrl) and right-click > bridge. But sometimes if you've got a really bad USB modem (Tiscali...!) it puts the modem in the "dial-up" section which won't work. Although if that's the case, I believe you can use the internet connection sharing wizard.Good luck!
Greetings
Open the connections window. I think you select two connections and right click on them, then select some option in the popup menu?
JT!
When i tired to bridge, it said i needed to select 2 high speed or lan conections that are not sharing their connection. The modem icon is in the dial-up section. Also, the lan conection has that yellow '!' on it and says limmited or no conectivity. Edited September 27, 2006 by JT!
