A!!
I was just wondering if anybody has/uses one, as i have seen them on the internet but never actually tried one, and they seem like a good idea. I have started riding bmx as well and i keep straining my wrists so i want to try beef them up a little, and the powerball things seem like they would help whilst being fairly fun to use. So if anyone has one please could they help me out, as i am looking into buying one but i want to know more about them first. Do they actually improve your arm and wrist muscles by a noticeable amount? And where is the best place to get one from other than the internet? as i had a quick look in the argos catalogue but they didn't seem to have them? Shaun H
I just got one from eBay. Literally only had it a few hours now but having used it I can say it definitely works out your whole lower arm. Obviously I'm yet to see if there are any long term benefits and wether it succesfully sorts the wrist problem I've been suffering from for a couple of months now, but it's looking good at the moment.EDIT: 10400 rpm so far, still haven't got my technique dialed though Edited September 22, 2006 by Shaun H
James Quigley
I have one from Play.comI've had no wrist problems since using one, but then again never had major wrist problems before, so I can't say fo sure if they work, but there fun for a bit. rickycoleman
I'm not a physio, But i know that when I use my powerball, My arm does ache, And I do feel the benefits if its used properly. I think i got mine off ebay for about £17, I your are going to get one, Make sure you get one with a screen on as it quite handy, becasue it tells you th rpm, and any records you have set. They are definately worth getting if you want to improve you wrist muscles and co-ordination. nb88
I got one ages ago, its pretty good, just bought one to see what its like really. when you use it, especially '90 second strength mode', your arm muscles do hurt, so it must work them out i guess. i dont really use it often enough to get benefit from it, id rather go to the gym, but its a handy lil toy, for example to take on holiday. JT!
Plays the best place to buy them i think. They would improve your arms, but you'd have to use it a lot. The novalty wears off pretty quick.

SQuiT-man
Yeh, I havent touched mine for 9 months probably now. I would still be into it, if Play.com hadnt messed me around by sending me the wrong replacement, and I couldnt be assed to send it back.Id reccomend: Get a 250Hz Pro one (faster and cheaper than a neon, plus they in my experience last longer, ALL of my and my mate's neon pro's have gone "gritty" over time, until they are virtually unuseable).Try and beat my record of 13459rpm, and 90-second endurance of 16500ish (On a neon hehe).Oh and a tip if you want to get good: Its all about training yourself in endurance, when you push your arm really hard for 90 seconds it will go really tight, and make you a little faster day by day. It is NOT very much about skill (last time I tried one, because I hadnt done it for a few months I could barely break 12500rpm on a mates, because my arm was no longer able to go that fast).Scott

Si-man
They are ace!!Only problem is if you have small hands they are quite hard to grip at speed. Most i got is 11960 i think it was, was close to 12000 i know that!
Tomm
I just discovered the 90s endurance thing, jesus that thing hurts! But you can certainly feel it working. The only thing is that I can't coordinate it properly with my left hand so I can't do the same workout on the left so I'll end up with really asymmetrical strength The best top speed is mostly to do with the size of your hands, I have girly hands and I can't do better than 10500
JT!
Small hands - big excuse.
