Yeah and I didn't need the news to tell me that either :P

To be honest I doubt the car would have slowed down much at all unless something on the engine broke, it could have even still been accelerating.

Except that the parachute had been deployed.

He didn’t look very “rallied” to me. In fact, he looked like a Klingon, with a massively swollen eye and a huge lump on his forehead. The only good news, so far as I could see, was that his teeth were still as shiny and bright as ever.

the landspeed record is 301 mph.. so what all this he was doin over 300 mph.. very unlikely and jeremy has said in the papers that he was in fact not trying to break the record. really hope he gets better, one of the best presenters on tv.. and he's not camp like all the presenters now adays

Read the article that was posted:

It was just so Top Gear could say they've got the fastest speed on british soil but it had to officially be done twice to be official. So even though top gear have done the fastest speed on british soil the car owners still hold the actual official record. Something like that anyway, i think it said that on ITN or Sky News :S
