Haz
Yeah and I didn't need the news to tell me that either To be honest I doubt the car would have slowed down much at all unless something on the engine broke, it could have even still been accelerating. Except that the parachute had been deployed.
Shaun H
Except that the parachute had been deployed.Oh yeah, reread a couple of articles. He'd *just* started slowing down so I reckon my point still stands, but not quite 300mph at that point.

Danny
If the bbc did decide to drop top gear it would get picked up by itv/channel 4 in a matter of seconds.
RicH_87
He didn’t look very “rallied” to me. In fact, he looked like a Klingon, with a massively swollen eye and a huge lump on his forehead. The only good news, so far as I could see, was that his teeth were still as shiny and bright as ever. hahahahaha!i love big JC.

Luke Rainbird
the landspeed record is 301 mph.. so what all this he was doin over 300 mph.. very unlikely and jeremy has said in the papers that he was in fact not trying to break the record. really hope he gets better, one of the best presenters on tv.. and he's not camp like all the presenters now adaysRead the article that was posted:"How fast was Richard going? Well on the run before, he’d reached 315mph. So it’s likely he’d hit that speed again. Richard isn’t the sort of man who goes backwards. If he thought he’d done 315, he’d be trying to do 317. Or 320. Or five million if he’d thought there was half a chance."-J Clarkson
Shaun H
He broke the record but I don't think they had any officials there to make it... official.Don't quote me on that though.

GaZaa
It was just so Top Gear could say they've got the fastest speed on british soil but it had to officially be done twice to be official. So even though top gear have done the fastest speed on british soil the car owners still hold the actual official record. Something like that anyway, i think it said that on ITN or Sky News
