lawrence osborn
I'd say because you havn't been out for such along time your muscules arn't as used to it as they used to be, so because you've give it to much beans it has probally pulled your muscle in your rist but don't count on me i'm no doctor . I have a weak muscle in my right ankle every time i walk up stairs my right ankle clicks and when it is cold and wet i can't put any pressure on it because it hurts so badly. Tomm
It'll probably be tendon/ligament if it's in your wrist. Unless you had a really bad break and it set wrong you wouldn't still be having pain now, but I think you'd have noticed (and complained more) if you'd have done that. I reckon go to the doctor and tell him it's no better after 3 months and you want a referral to a doctor/surgeon who specialises in hands. When you go to your GP with a problem like this, they really won't know what's going on and "rest it" is the obvious stock answer. It's stupid that people like you have to resort to acupuncture and other, less tested treatments, rather than seeing a specialist who knows what they're dealing with. The other thing you could do would be to see a physio - there are plenty of people on here who have had good experiences. In summary - go back to your GP and demand a referral. If that doesn't work, go see a physio.

An_toin3
the bar question ain't stupid at all, I used to have some wrist problem, I run zoo! bar, they were tilted a bit backward and were hurting my wrist pretty badly, then I tilted them forward, so the Zoo! logo would be vertical with the ground, and my wrist problem just sorted himself out So maybe try and play with your bar's angle, might help
Fish-Finger-er
may well be cartilidge the way you describe it, know a bloke at the gym, who tore the cartilidge in his wrist, could still bench like a mother, do chin ups etc, but try get him to rotate his wrist, the bloke couldnt turn a key without yelping in pain, because of the way he tore it. may be similar here, because of the tear/damage, whenever your wrist compresses to meet your forearm. ( put ur elbow on the table-manners excused, with ur fist clenched, so the 1st knuckle of ur fingers sits flat, and push on ur fist with your other hand trying to push ur elbow into the table) should hurt like a proper cnut. if it does, is most likely cartilidge damage. Prawny Baby
I run Zoo bars... but it was a sudden movement that killed my wrist, not a prolonged bar angle effect.I'll talk to the school doctor about it, see what she says... perhaps try angling your levers down a bit more....loads of people seem to run their levers very high up, which causes me terrible wrist pain when going for big wheelswaps, as you have to twist your wrists right back!i run my levers VERY low down, so i can stil be comfortable on the biggest of wheelswaps. makes a massive difference! yoyoyo
I'm pretty sure there's a physiotherapist on the forum, could be 'physio.'It might be worth having a chat with him as he will understand more because i'm guessing he has a background in trials.Or you local physiotherapist might be able to help. StuntMan_Stan
Right lad,Speaking as someone who has just recovered (fingers croosed) from a similair sounding injury I recomend the following.Going to your local GP tell him exactly what the problem is tell / show him what trials is (take a CD in if nessasary).I have been out since November with a tear / perferation to the cartlidge in between the small bones in my wrist. I had to have an operation. If your GP tells you to rest and take ibuprophen for a couple of weeks tell him to go f*ck himself. If you have no joy with your GP go to an osteopath they can ussually put you intouch with a specialst. You may need a MRI scan and these arent cheap!RegardsJohn Evans
rickycoleman
May be worth investing in a Powerball, Go on a diet of food really rich in protien, then whatever it is, It should get better. You have to build it back up aswell, you can just go out and put loads of strain on it, Build it up with the powerball and then see how it goes.......
