Ethernet Card for your PC, costs around £10. A network cable, usually about £15 or so for a Belkin one (Highly recommended, lifetime warrenty) and a second ethernet card for your hosting pc if it doesnt have one already.

Basically install both ethernet cards, DO NOT plug the cable in straight away though, windows should pick the card up and install it automatically...in an ideal world. Then use the Networking Wizard to set up your network.

Fun the wizard on the HOSTING pc first (one downstairs) and add the PC upstairs as a guest user.

That should work...however, as its a computer and using windows, it probably wont be that easy :P

Yep that way works, but only when the computer with the internet attached to it is turned on.

Look at the back of your broadband modem, there might be a spare ethernet port. In that case you just need a spare ethernet/network card (same thing) for your new computer, and a network cable between the 2. That way it should work even with only your computer turned on.

Cut the cable that connects the modem to the computer. You should find that actually there are 2 separate cables inside it. You can use one of them (extend it if you need, and put a usb pug on the end) to connect it to the other computer.

Viola.

I really hope your joking :ermm:
