Barghy
yeah well my mum works with ben slingers mum. Ben slinger is the 3 times world trails champion (youth). So i guess i should talk to him really but its a bit daunting so i wanted to get better first so he could help me improve rather than teach me and me being really bad... oddies
you should just ask him to teach you a bit, it would probably help you to learn much quicker to learn with someone who already knows how to do it.
Barghy
yeah i guess. Btw if i was to use my mountain bike now. It has a suspension. What should i set it as... e.g. rigid suspension, seat as low as possible and medium, high or low gears?
-*lewis*-
Set low gears, low seat and you can use suspension forks if you want, if you live in lancaster so do i, we could arrange a ride sometime and i could help u with the basics. Ive only ben riding for a while so i could help you hopefully add me on msn if you have it.lewmaz_1@hotmail.comLewis
-*lewis*-
Also if you want lessons with Ben Slinger you have to pay, i was thinking of getting some. try and learn some stuff on your moutain bike because if you get a trials bike it will be so much lighter and youll find it a hell of alot easier! lewis
trialsrider101
i live in lancaster...(nr morecambe NW)dude where abouts in lancaster i live right next to the battery in morecambe i was starting to think people had given up in morecambe/lancaster Edited February 26, 2007 by trialsrider101
fyfey
Same as me, starting on my MTB. I'd set your suspension to pretty rigid so you don't get used to the bounce which you wont have when you get a trials bike. Learn all the basics on your MTB like trackstands, rocking etc. Should help alot
Barbra
Me and my mate started on a 20" wheeled mountain bike Was more of a pretend thing though, we got the balance down on the sucker though, then we moved onto a da bomb.I suggest you just speak to Ben and ask him to help you to be honest. It'll be much easier in the long run, plus he'll probably let you try stuff on his bike
onzat-comp
Hi Well i would suggest a onza, maybe t-pro or t-vee. They are good starter bikes especially the "06" t-pro.and for all you needs as in skill wise visit www.trashzen.com . Hope I've helped. Rick. Token
This thread dates back to September, so the chances are that this guy's found a bike already.

Token
Did nobody look at my post, this thread was started in september! SO that kid who wants to start riding trials hasnt been back onto the forum since 11th September 2006 - 06:49 PM. What's the point in giving him your advice, when really your repeating what other's have said. What is the point really?
jsychem
Hi, its alot easier to get a trials bike straight away and do it up. My mate just got an onza t-vee and has slowly done it up. It would be really awkward learning with your bike because of the amount of engagement points in the rear hub and the size and weight of the bike would also be awkward to learn with.Hope that helps,Adam.
