Hs33 Levers 04 Running Low

basically i can feel that my magura 04 lever is about to die. had it ages. i dont mind getting an 05 one but dont want the tpa to die one me. never ever knocked one off or anything, just the threads go and need to replace it will a bolt etc.

so yeah, how strong is the tpa on new levers? cheers.

Dont get 05's

If you strip down your break, take out the bleed bolt and the cable from the lever, take the lever blade off the lever body and dunk the lever body in a pan of boiling hot water with washing up liquid in it. You will be amazed at how much crap and black gunk comes out. Take it streight out the pan and dunk it in a sink full of cold water, and hopefuly your piston will pop out and you can just lube it up with some vasaline and put it back together. If it doesn't come out smear vasaline around the piston.

While your breaks striped down it's always a good idea to clean your callipers out as well.

Put it all together, give it a fresh bleed and all should be hunky dory.

Keep sketch of the pan though. I've done this with a couple of maggys and everytime the waters bubbled to f**k with the washing up liquid in it and over flowed and gone everywhere, and im an ass so burned myself both times

edit: ok I completely miss read the topic. I thought you said they were running slow not low

Just get another 04 lever from CRC.

In answer to your question the TPA's are about as strong as a block of cheese.

damn, its my lever - starting to wobble and you can see where htere is loads of space above and below the lever blade. that usually where mine seem to snap. had loads do it. must be the way i pull the lever or something
