darrenhopper
Hi-you doing gang, I've been riding trials now for a shade over 7 months. I started out on a Saracen 2-six that I nabbed from a mate for 50 quid (he couldn't ride it). (Well neither could I to be honest). I've swapped off the brakes for Maguras & the cranks for a set of Middleburns. Latest problem is the Frame... Managed to break the drive side chainstay twice within an inch of the BB. So time for a change I suppose. The geometries suit me better than anything else I've ridden, which isn't alot in the way of trials specific bikes... There are no riders anywhere near me. I have ridden every imaginable jump frame & DH / Freeride rig to destruction though.I'm looking for advice on which frame to go for. I've got my little heart set on something with heavily machined yokes around the BB & chain stays. A stiffer set up around the rear brake wouldn't hurt either.I'm also intrested to hear opinions on how people have managed on higher BB frames? I'm not quite able to hop up to a back wheel landing comfortably yet.Any help will be much appreciated.
max-t
hi there...personally i would stay with a low bb frame...and if you were to get a new frame get the echo control 05..great looking frame at a good price with great geo and very strong..of yer it has got cnc stuff too and a built in brake booster.my friend has one and its lush to ride. or if you dont have as much money to spend the echo pure would be a good choice.ive heard about some very happy people who have have one but i havent actually rode one.also another good frame is the zoo pitbull..05..and thats the reason why it is a popular frame...also features lots of cnc parts on it and costs the same as the control.again.very strong frame with great stand over height and good features.as for high bb frames i dont think that they are as suited to trials as the low bb frames...other people prefer the hi bb frames but the only advantage i see in it is backwheel control..but there isnt much differance to a well set up low bb frame..echo control for the win my friend max..... 26inch
Yeah, stick with a low bb frame, something steel would be good seeing as it sounds like your pretty heavy on frames, depends on your budget really but something like an Iolo would be good
Tommy d
Latest problem is the Frame... Managed to break the drive side chainstay twice within an inch of the BB. Ah, so it's not just me then. Silly Saracens...How much money have you got to play with?

lil_kial
Short "factory" frames arnt to common now i reccommend getting an 04 levelboss second hand £100 if that or something like a second hand 1065 05 pitbull would withstand all the knocks and bumps of learning stages and still live a long time after too they seem to go for around £130 on here...Base bikes are short, well made, seems great for you, cheap too Check out the fs/wanted on here as we cant post in there, add them to msn be poilte explain yourself fully and you should be able to deal fine Edited September 7, 2006 by lil_kial
GTF
the first frame that comes up in my mind is the echo control. they are super stong and look really nice.or like me you can get a high bb frame (never ever tried one but i'm soon ordering an adamant a2.) you'll surley get used to it after a while. almost everyone riding a high bb frame ride it like hell (damon, matt, etc)but if you don't wanna take the risk of buying a high b frame go for the echo control. they are super frames.cheers
