matt!
from what i have seen a heard about them they ride nice, take damom watson for example amazing on his GU especially on the "back wheel" but then a coukle of friends, of mine rode his bike when he came to our local town to ride, and said it feels like you are falling over the handle bars because of the high bottom bracket rise, but this may be his set-up of his bike though he has a nearly flat stem, but matt arkwright also can ride one verywel on the " back wheel" also, even though he is not the tallest of people, so would imagain from what ive heard is your bulid and power and not what you hear about it of other people, this includes the set up of the frames components..also i do agree about the python and the longer version being better than th short because i have rode both and the long python is so much comfyer on the back wheel than the short framematt Edited September 6, 2006 by matt! Tom_
I have heard from a few people that the Long has strage geometry and feels a bit strange to ride. But I have heard from one person that the long is fine, if I was buying one I personally would go for a short, simply because I have heard they ride nicer. However if you hear good things about the long from people who ride them then go for it and get one if you think it will suit you. tom. basher
this is a silly topic really because only you no if a bike rides nice, i have a gu long and i think it rides great my friends don't perticuarly like it. its personal preference. the only way you will find out how it rides compared to the short version is to ride them both your self. if you think about it, if it was as simple as everyone thinking it rode nice or bad compared to the short then deng would only make one of them, geometry is completely a personal thing. dont listen to others as there views are biased to how they like a bike to ride ect. Danny@phatworks
this is a silly topic really because only you no if a bike rides niceTrue, however if you look at half the topics on here and the 'trials chat' forum they are asking for opinions on some sort of component. This is a forum, it is used to generate opinions, thaughts and ideas about everything asked
Mitch A
In my personal opinion Gu rides great however just like Andy says its not to everyone's liking. The only way to see if you personally like the long Gu, you have to try one out yourself.Obviously short frames will be controlled different on the backwheel to a frame such as the python. Also the long Gu has great control on the backwheel however IMO not as good as the python does.ThanksMitch Edited September 6, 2006 by Mitch A
python_man
its my mate and he was just wondering what its like. He has tried a gu short and that felt OK on the back wheel but when he gets on my long python (he has the short version) he can keep the front up no effort and sidehop like a beast.he was thinking of a change of bike he wants something longer and he thought someone on here might know if they ride well or not.there is no one round our area that rides a gu long so he cant try one out thats why he asked. so does anyone know if they feel really easy to ride e.g keep on the back wheel no effort . he loves hooking but is the bike ok for that or is there no point in getting a gu?
