Which Stem Do You Think?

Recommended Posts

I am building up a T-pro, and was just wondering if anyone had any opinions, on etheir the Monty 221pr stem, or a Echo team (or any other mod stem) ?

could you please include

  1. How the stem makes the bike feel/ride?
  2. Which bar you feel suits it best (riser or flat)
  3. How it compares to any other stem you have used?
  4. And would you recomend it?
I am currently running a flat bar but will happily change to a riser if necesary.

cheers

Monty stem (Y)

its looks better

and

feels better

would recommend raiser bar

and

obiviously get the right lenght

Echo team stem

when i used it

it gave a different feelin

but it might be because i m used to the monty stem

so i cant give u much of an opinion with it :ermm:

personally i would get the monty

because its has a much better feel

as its not as steep

i'd say get the echo to be honest. Echo stem with zoo bars is the shiz. I've ridden someones python with these on, IT feels great compared to my zona's front end. I have a zoo stem and zoo bars. We both have the same forks as well so obviously its the stem thats making the difference. Plus monty stuff is overpriced.

The monty stem is 12 quid  (pound sign button doesnt work :( ) But I think I will get the echo as Im not sure weather the monty stem will make the front of my bike too low.

Depends on if you think a high/low front end would be better for you.

I had Echo Team stem, Zoo bars on my T-Pro, and it felt lovely. (Running the same on my Zona).

I've had a go on a bike with a low Monty stem, and it felt to hard on the backwheel to me.

It's all personal preference. (Y)

God this is hard to work out as evryone seems to have a different view. I would normally try a bike with both before I buy something, but no one around here rides with either stem (they all use t-master stems) so Im a bit stuck.
