Anyone Know The Difference...

Think I'm requiring a new freehub body for my xt hub and wondered what the difference was between those and lx ones because my mate can get an lx one for a tenner and fit it for me at work and may have to pay 28 quid for xt one, not sure yet though...

Cheers, Nathan :)

Yeah, get that one then. At least you can check to see if it fits ok and your mates gonna fit it free of charge. (Y) You will keep killing Shimanos though...... do the right thing soon!

PS: Tell your mate to try and take your old one apart and fix it. :P Nah` that would be cruel as he's doing you a favor.

My past experience of shimano hubs is the more expensive you go the worse they become for trials (XTR not necessarily included since i've never owned one). I would say avoid the XT, it's made to be lighter and they are weaker than LX. The best freehub body of all the shimano hubs i've had is the Acera X one that came on my first bike used for trials and believe it or not the whole hub is still fine eight years on!!! You'd be lucky to find one of those though, they stopped making them years a go.

ive got a 7speed one sitting in my shed ;) i actually never had any troubles with my deore when i started out except for a half hour engagement wait (although it meant i learnt to preload which helped me), however i tried my old xt i sold to a mate and it was scary as fooookery, skip haven
