Hurman
Anyone who took part in Sunday's Tyke trial up on Addingham Moorside this weekend deserves a huge pat on the back and an appointment to see the nearest psychologist I think Barbara is secretly training you all for a top secret mission in a place far far away from here where it never stops raining and only the fittest can survive As soon as the trial started the heavens opened and the 30 mph wind was driving the rain through even the highest quality waterproofs. Keeping warm was also a challenge which made the queuing an even more unpleasant experience But everyone plugged away and did their best keeping the usual level of enthusiasm going. One of the biggest challenges was not to get blown off your bike by the wind, riding the sections was secondary. As always a big thankyou must go out to all the observers who braved weather any normal person wouldn't even think about venturing out in and although it was tough for the riders they at least had the chance to move around and get wet in different parts of the venue, the observers however had to keep their post and just take what nature had to give That was until about 45 minutes from the end when the clouds cleared the wind dropped (slightly) and the sun shone, it was like being in a totally different part of the world. The sun lifted everyones spirits and helped the tail enders get round and back to the butty wagon. It was so encouraging to see everyone competing in such appalling conditions and getting on with the job in hand. The weather was crap but the riding and attitude of everyone involved was excellent. Thanks again to Barbara for organising the event and to all the guys who set the sections out on the Saturday in equally diabolical conditions. Can't wait for the next one at the end of the month, a new venue and hopefully some sunshine....please

cleanbikes
What I really want to know, is why had you all been eating mud? Everyone seemed to come back to control with mud round their mouths!
planet-x-boy
The rain didnt seem to bother me on sunday but the wind was terrible. As said above, the real task was just staying on the bike because of the wind. On only my third section i got blown off a rock and snapped my mech hanger which didnt but me in very good spirits but i stuck it out and it payed off in the end.Although the weather was sh*t everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Even the few very young lads that are always there. Very well done to everyone who competed and finished. I pity the lads that wimped out and retired I thought that maybe the sections were a little to easy, might be just me but if the day was bone dry there would have been many 0,1,2's at the end. Very big thankyou to everyone who set out the sections, the observers and everyone that helped make the day possible.Brett....

Hurman
What I really want to know, is why had you all been eating mud? Everyone seemed to come back to control with mud round their mouths!I think that was actually in the rain. When I took the kids helmets off they had tide marks around their fore heads We also had very sore faces, it was as though we had been shot blasted by the fine sand in the rain. It was truly extreme weather.
