Mat Smith! If you put a softer compound they will be more like Zoos, harder more like Koxx browns? But there not gonna' be exactly the same are they else everyone would get there own compound for cheaper instead of buying the 20 pound pads.Mat
matt!
making your own pads with own material and backings may be as good as, black pads on a smooth rim with gt85 all over it, you need proper material and backings or you could try your own but at your own risk! ted
not any rubber will workit'll have to be a compound thats very similar to existing pads.p.s use LOTS of super glue or the rubber will get ripped off
Biff...
Right what you want to do is cut the rubber down on the plastic backings so it's dead level cut it right down level with the plastic backing but dont't rip the existing rubber out, then cut the rubber you have level and to size for placing on the backing and then super glue it and leave it in a clamp for a few hours or so.I have done this plenty of times works a treat, and the rubber has never came of before for me. Ali C
if you cut the rubber to a VERY good fit in the backings then you can get away with little glue, or even no glue at all some times!so, actually making the pad can work, but wether the material works you'll have to find out. basher
yea it will work, but its not garrentied that the braking will be good as there are hundreds may be thousands of different compounds, and it is just a matter of keep trying different compounds till you find the right one, this is what companies have to do, and is a reason why not a lot of people make there own pads.
