I don't get this turtle thing. People putting turtles in their MSNs 'n' stuff. What relation are turtles to Steve Irwin, apart from the fact they're a creature? Just seemed a bit weird that people are suddenly all about the turtles...

What emotion do you think relates more to Steve on msn?

He did a 3 episode marathon on discovery all about saving sea turtles and he burst out crying when they hatched infront of him etc. He pretty much loved them as much as crocs.

I just don't really get why there needs to be any emoticon? Why not just have "RIP Steve Irwin" or whatever? However, that was before I knew this:

Fair enough. My lack of Discovery channel comes to the fore.

Mark, did Steve Irwin piss on you on christmas morning when you were 8 or something. Don't come into the topics if your going to get your back arched.

Aside from the blatant hypocrisy there, like I said in the other thread, where did I say I was happy he was dead or anything along those lines? No-f**king-where. I'm not caught up in this wave of mass hysteria 'cos for me, he didn't really mean anything. I think I saw two or three programmes he did. He seemed to be a pretty decent, if pretty weird guy, but I'm not going into shock because he died.

And I was 9 anyway.

But you seem to think just becuase people are saying "R.I.P dude, you legend" that that person is a massive full-blown fan.

Your complaining that your post was taken the wrong way, but your doing exactly the same thing yourself, it's unbeliveable!

Consider he's royally pissed off all manner of properly dangerous creatures, it seems a bit unjust that he got killed by one he was just swimming above, and it happened to freak out? Ah well.

How long before the video makes it to the internet

^Mark makes a different comment to everyone else like he always does. Dosn't even say R.I.P or anything like that.

Interesting how many closet die-hard Steve Irwin fans there appear to be. I'm pretty sure if there'd been a poll for "Who's a mad keen Steve Irwin fan" there wouldn't have been a particularly high result...

^Marks previous post hadn't been quoted or got anyone angery, so he has another go with a more controversal post.

Yeah, like I said, it's interesting how a lot of people didn't really give a shit now but now they're acting like they're going to commit suicide at any point. Same there, they loved him so much they didn't even actually realise that the guy in the pics looked nothing like Steve Irwin, and nor was Steve Irwin involved in any of the things that guy was. Ah well...

^Marks posts STILL go unquoted and haven't caused any controversy at all so he posts an even more controversal post and someone replied by saying "Your gald he's dead". Then Mark goes off on one saying how he never said that, and how his posts have been taken out of context even though he thinks that by saying R.I.P Steve makes you a number one fan.

Word to sum up Marks involvement in the Steve Irwin thread: Hypocrite or Shit Stirer

People aren't just saying "R.I.P dude" people have made a shity website full of complete bullshit.

DRINK AUSTRALIAN BEER (if you can stomach beer)

Name an australian beer? Let me guess, you thought of fosters? Wheres fosters brewed? England. No Ozzy's drink fosters. Not every ozzy is called Sheila or Bruise either.

People dont have a f**king clue.

In two days these topics will be on page 2 and no one will give a shit.

Edit: sorry if im going off on one :$ And JT im not trying to be a twat but I dont understand what are you getting at?

Wasn't in reply to your post or anything, just inspired by what mark said to me over msn just to show him that he just keeps digging away untill he caused some kind of argument. He kept posting untill he got the responce he was looking for. Took him 3 posts. If you read the main thread, he started the argument.

Also, if you look at the list of how many people have posted in the mian thred, Mark's posted 9 times, opposed to the next person down on the list who's posted 3. That's 3 times more!

How is that "shit stirring"?!

You seem to think he HAS to say RIP. As Mark said, he only watched a couple of his programs, therefore, he wasn't really a fan...just like me. Lets be honest, it's not really going to affect any of our lives is it? None of us will be going to his funeral, and none of us will be deeply morning. Yeah, a couple of people may have been quite shocked, but that same shock would be present if it was another celibrity, I'm sure. I hate people jumping on the bandwagon when people pass away, as far as I'm concerned, unless you actually knew him as a person, not a tv personality, it shouldn't bother you as much as it clearly is.

I'd describe somebody calling Steve a "legend", a pretty big fan?

"Interesting how many closet die-hard Steve Irwin fans there appear to be. I'm pretty sure if there'd been a poll for "Who's a mad keen Steve Irwin fan" there wouldn't have been a particularly high result..."

How is that even in the slightest bit contriversial?! Its stating the obvious! If he'd said Steve was an Ozzy twat that deserved to die or something like that, then yes, I could see your point. But as it is, your arguement for him being contriversial, just because he doesn't share your opinions, is a bit weak.

"Marks posts STILL go unquoted and haven't caused any controversy at all so he posts an even more controversal post and someone replied by saying "Your gald he's dead". Then Mark goes off on one saying how he never said that, and how his posts have been taken out of context even though he thinks that by saying R.I.P Steve makes you a number one fan"

Again, I fail to see Mark's apparent contraversy?! Or how he "goes off on one". If I was told I was glad somebody was dead, I think I'd be a bit pissed too.

...you may as well add me to your list of "shit stirrers" while you're at it, because I whole-heartedly agree with Mark.

And in your opinion he should? Hmmm.

I agree that Mark probably didn't need to say the stuff he did, because the response was pretty predictable (on here), but I don't think it was really out of order. This forum turns into an online book of condolences every time someone dies, which is stupid, because it is just a trials forum.

For the record, I think Steve Irwin was cool B)

To be fair to everyone it does seem sometimes that mark goes looking for the arguments. Its fair enough posting your opinion ona topic but if it was anyone else they would be told to f**k off if they dont like it kinda thing. Im going to have to be with JT though on this kind of thing.. far too many times it feels like mark says things just to be the Mr controversy of the thread. Blah blah yes its an opinion.. but damn he could just leave the thread alone. For example why not just ask someone on msn why there is a turtle in their names etc? no one is being a die hard fan but its nice to show some respect. If he was just "another dead person" i guesse you could sit there all day trying to have a go at the news teams? they all seemed to think it was a big enough deal as well. Its not like the guy was some unemployed waster who died in his own shit under a cardboard box, he actually did something with his life that he loved doing. Died whilst filming his new programmes raising awareness to the somewhat ignorant public it seems. The fact he was also hilarious at times and crazy made him appeal to everyone to watch so yeap he was a popular guy and hence all of the posts and attention around the world.

I came in here to say "Freak that bitch out Tone!!"

awwr nigga! did tic sort you out with that vid? ha (EDIT just realised that tone is still my have haha. he is a legend. www.awwnigga.com)

mark i dont use this forum enough anymore to be overly bothered about this but i might as well say it, the last few days ive been back on here cos ive got flu and bored, and have noticed you seem to be being a truly awful moderator, every other board ive ever been on has moderators that keep unnecessary arguing down whereas you seem to be doing the exact opposite, im not saying you dont do a lot of good too but in steve irwins case for certain you are being a f**kin pillock, cant you just keep out of it if you arent interested in mourning him, as thats what everyone else using the threads wants to do really.

so, who's got big plans for steve irwin day this saturday? ive just been into town, purchased some straw hats, ive already got lots of khaki, oh and i also bought a toy stingray to hang from my top pocket. pics will be emailed!

I highly doubt he goes looking for arguments, or to be "Mr Controversy". He is simply expressing

his honest opinion on the subject, which is fine. However because his is the minority's view the majority don't like it... Especially as they can say some bs about it being disrespectful due to the nature of the subject. If only more people had the guts to express their true opinions.

I can't say i'm particularly affected, having never watched any of his programmes.

That website does seem to take the mick somewhat though, rather than being some kind of proper memorial say.
