Cracked Zoo! Pitbull

i was cleaning my bike up a while ago and found 2 large cracks on my frame. they are on the down tube about 4 inches away from the weld. they havent started due to a dent or anything!

i cant see how my riding could have done this to the frame!

is there anyone i can get in touch with.

i bought the frame from bikedock and the warranty ran out about 3 weeks ago.

i am very disapointed with this because it isnt my fault. if the crack was on a weld etc then fair enough but just on a piece of tubing!

all advice welcome. i also have pictures if anyone would like a look.

thanks

Dave

Drill a small hole at each end of the crack to stop it spreading further, or alternatively lay off doing the most fatiguing moves you can do to a cracking frame (i.e. hooks ;)) until you've actually got another frame sorted, so you aren't totally f**ked?

Any dent's going to weaken the tubing though, and it doesn't necessarily have to crack near the dent for it to be the dent's fault? If you dent the tube you're basically shortening it slightly which is gonna put more strain on it. In that no other Pitbulls appear to have broken in a similar way, it could just be there was a bit of a f**k-up in the actual metal, and if you'd dented the tubing it could've been enough to mess it up?

Either way, shit luck...

right thanks for the info.

i thought it may have been a manufacturing defect...thats the only reason i decided to bring it to peoples attention. it has been there quite a while now (not sure if longer than the dent or not though) but at first it just looked like the lacquer coming off.
