leemekeetja
I wonder how much this bike weights.http://www.monty.es/bikes/2006/pdf/230d.jpgMy friend bought one and it seems quite heavy.I wonder why Thanks. Greetings
It's heavy because of the shocker (at least 1.3kg over traditional rigid forks), seat and seat post (my guess is 0.8kg) and the disc setup (an extra 0.5kg over maguras). In total that gives you over 2.5kgs of extra weight.

I-LUV-TRIALS
They dont. The sus is because it's a "street" bike.i ride street and dont need sus its pointless really unless your crap and keep landing on your front wheel
Walleee
i ride street and dont need sus its pointless really unless your crap and keep landing on your front wheel Well you know, I ride downhill's and I don't need a downhill bike, yet some people do. Nothing is pointless, the point is to absorb the shock which would otherwise go straight to the rider.and finally, Adam is right, Disc's generally weigh more than magura's when you take into consideration the extra tabs on the hub, the disc itself, the calipers and the lever, where magura's are just 2 calipers and a lever. Walleee
look, Ill start being pedantic about this if you want, or you can take my word for it that generally maggies are the lighter option. a big sidewall? dead on.You have hose with disk's too The rim could be lighter using carbon fibre, but like I said generally, maggies are the lighter option.Magura's - Weight: 315g per brake, including 4 bolt mounts. Discs - Formula Weight: 388g (including all bolts, rotor, and full length hose) Hope Weight 408g including full length hose and, all mounting hardware. ok? I-LUV-TRIALS
You have hose with disk's too i never said you didn't have a hose on a disc but i also didn't mention that the pads on a maggie are heavy and wont be included in the overall weight. King C
but i also didn't mention that the pads on a maggie are heavy and wont be included in the overall weight. what pads are you running?Just face it discs are heavier especially if you have a large rotor ie 203mm. Walleee
It's a matter of opinion as to which is better, I seriously doubt a Downhiller would say maggies are better than discs.I can assure you, pads weigh about 25 grams each or something silly like that, still making maggies lighter than discs. Greetings
i think maguras weigh more than discs do, These are the figures (weighed by me):Rear 05 Maggie with mounts - 242gHope Trials with 180mm disc - 420g (or something similar). Note that this brake has an extremely lightweight rotor making it very light comparing to other brakes with similar power.

Greetings
woooo calm down, pmt lol its a bit obvious that a maggie and mounts weigh more than 242g I'm SO sorry, I forgot to weigh the screws, so here's your 266g as opposed to 242. Why does one have to prove everything one says? The brake isn't resting on anything so don't you jump to conclusions.
