Help please. Nick

stiffnips
I only have the arms for the cranks, would having a bashring make the sprocket sit closer to the bb?
AdamR28
Yeah, that would help, or a spacer. How much are they out of line? Its pretty much impossible to get it perfect, especially with a nice long BB so your ankles clear the cylinders, but in nearly all cases it'll run fine, especially with a BMX chain (KMC Kool for example)Adam

AdamR28
If its 5mm, that'll be fine... I've seen 10-12mm before and that's run without problems

AdamR28
How tight is your chain? There should be a small amount of bob without any pressure on the pedals. Which chain is it?
Hobnobs
I found when i put a new chain on, which im guessing you have (that or new sprockets) it makes a crap bag noise for a week or so, then shuts up, give it a while and it should sort itself out. I don't particually want to leave it if it might be ok i want to know that it's going to be alright being that far out of line. But you might be right.Shal i just leave it? AdamR28
How tight is your chain Nick?Like Phil says, its worth just letting it all bed in... but having your chain too tight won't help that.

stiffnips
Meh, it's rideable, even if it does sound like ass.
JT!
Yup i had the same problem.I found that changing the chain dosn't make a differnce.Use BB spaceers to bring the fixed cog on the cranks as close in as possible, i've got 5mm of spacers. That's all you can do really. It does settle down after a while slightly.
stiffnips
Using bb spacers will make it worse. i need the cog closer to the bb.

They are perfectly the right sise.
