if your fire breathing.... there isnt any other substance other than parafin.. yeah it does say it is harmfull to you e.t.c but not by THAT much.... my dads band performs alot of fire acts.. drum sticks on fire while playing the drums, fire breathing, bible on fire e.t.c and they use parafin..... just rinse your mouth out after youv sprayed it ever where LOL..

EDIT:

id practice with water first spraying it evenly that would be the safest option if you havent done it before :)

Tramps drink parafin to get pissed. There not dead.

I have a few mates who are into this sorta shit and fire poi and the lark they were fire breathing the other night and from what they were saying nadine has it spot on.

Practise getting a good spray with water first of all, or maybe milk if you can as it resembles the textuire of the paraffin more apparently.

They also said that parafin is the only way to go really.

Two of them swallowed it and were sick afterwards, I don't think it's the sort of thing you need to make yourself throw up, you body knows it's wrong and makes you anyway...]

Go for it, and take a video.....

Just an idea, try leaning circular breathing, that way you can constantly breath out at a steady rate making it less dangerous/ more impressive? It's weird to learn and feels impossible at first but i managed to learn it in about an hour for playing wind instruments. http://www.woodwind.org/clarinet/Study/Cir...rBreathing.html

Hey guys, in the end i dressed up as a pirate and f**ked the fire breathing right off. For that party anyway, I've tryed it, and it kinda works, I just need to get my spray technique better. I will get some pictures up sometime if anyones interested.

At any rate, if you swallow it your f**ked anyway, unless you do a mad hard burp and bring some of the vapour up? If not, you're going to have to throw up to bring it up, and to be honest, throwing up on your friend then setting fire to him's just taking the piss, really.

Everytime i read that it makes me giggle at the thought of it, it would be one of them things you i would love to witness at someones party :-

I have always been slightly tempted to try it, but the thought of swallowing parafin puts me off.

It would be good to see some pictures (Y)

Right, hopefully I can help out a bit 'cos I've got limited experience with fire-breathing but I don't do it too often 'cos it's nasty :)

As people have said paraffin is the only fuel you can use, ethanol and other fuels are far too volatile and you'll burn your mouth and face, not cool. Paraffin is nasty if you swallow it, it'll make you sick very quickly, you'd have to swallow a fair amount to f**k yourself over properly though. The main danger comes from the droplets left hanging in the air in front of your face after you exhale the fuel, if you breathe vaporised fuel in and it hits your lungs you'll get chemical pneumonia, which is f**king serious. If it doesn't kill you you'll have nasty internal scarring on your lungs.

So, how to do it if I've not put you off :P Practice with water first, you wanna be spraying a fully misted jet past your hand at its full stretch out from your face every time. Once you've got this dialled do a coupla practice breaths with paraffin UNLIT to get used to the different taste and viscocity. To ignite it you want to hold the torch about 1½' away from your face and breathe the fuel over and slightly above it, to begin with spray the fuel upwards at about 40 degrees from the horizontal. It helps to be holding a cloth or something to cover your mouth after you breathe to make sure you don't inhale any fuel. Also be aware of how hot and huge the flame will be, it's gonna be plenty of both so don't freak out, just do what you practiced.

P.S. Drinking milk before you breathe lines your mouth and reduces the risk of chemical burns inside it. Wipe your face well afterwards and wash it, otherwsie you'll probably end up with a rash or worse a chemical burn.

I've tried to keep it short but there's a lot to think about. Fire-breathing is conversely one of the easier fire arts but without doubt the most dangerous, so be careful (Y)

yea, nadine does a mean bearded woman impression :P o/j.

on a serious note, dont think youl be dieing to soon from the paraffin, your body will spew to the point it rips your stomach lining out rather than have you digest it.

and on a plus note, over the years,i must of consumed a good few litres of petrol(accidentally in my job and hobbies, im not some petrol sniffin drug fiend), which has a similar chemical make up, and im still here.

This thread is a classic, a 15yr old asking for tips on breathing fire.... am I the only person who sees the fundamental problems with that, haha?!?

Solidarity people, some things are just a bad idea, you play with fire you're gonna get burned!

I informed him of the dangers and the method for doing it with minimal risk. If he's not put off by the nastiness and danger of it it's his own choice to try it.

Looks damned impressive anyway, not something I make too much of a habit of though

Yeah, I see it kinda wrong. on the fire forum thingy, everyone doing was atlleast 20ish, and had all had lessons and are fooking amazing. Fire shiz (Y)

But yeah, I've worked out that if i keep drinking it, i will end up raping myself, so I'm going to stop me thinks.

I guess the reason i thought about it, was I was having one of those day dreams, where I can do anything, and anythings possible. Pretty shit that it isn't true though.

Haha woo I'm on HOP, great place, meet plenty of interesting pyromaniacs and hippies and the like! :)

They've not all had lessons or owt, a great big number are people like you, and an even greater number are people like me, just people who spin and play with fire for their own pleasure. Heck a lot of people on there don't even use fire, it's more about the joy of spinning crap :)
